If there was one tuning house you’d trust to spice up a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering ranks right up there at the top. Known for building some of the fastest Corvettes in the world, Lingenfelter has built a reputation as a “Corvette Whisperer”, finely tuning these Chevy sports cars and turning them into full-fledged beasts on wheels. Their latest piece of handiwork is a Corvette ZR1, which, as you can see in the video, has been amped up to produce staggering results at a recent test run at the Maryland International Raceway last December. Outfitted with a number of performance modifications, the Jetstream Blue Metallic ZR1 was able to clock in speeds of over 145 mph in just under 10 seconds (9.813 seconds) – a remarkable time by any stretch of the imagination.

As you can imagine, a Corvette posting that number wouldn’t be possible without the help of some enhancements, all of which Lingenfelter had in abundance. Among the key modifications the tuning house did on the ZR1’s already powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine include a cast aluminum air intake snout and an 11-rib, 2.6-inch pulley, an upgraded air filter, a four-inch diameter intake tube with mass air sensor, a ported throttle body, and a cast aluminum air inlet. The result of the Lingenfelter’s body of work is a ZR1 that churns out as much as 740 horsepower and 740 lb/ft of torque, an dramatic increase in output compared to what standard ZR1s are capable of.
