I bought this for $500 cash for my husband as a gift. Worked great for a little over a year. One day we start the car and it was completely dead. Nothing worked. Screen black. No response. I looked up online to troubleshoot (maybe a cable wore out) and I come to find out dozens & dozens of people with the same problem that have already tried to replace parts of it and pretty much just told me save your money, don’t bother, buy something better. Basically Crap.

This player has every sound option you could ever imagine, if you really like to equilize your stereo to the max, this is the way to go… It has nearly infinite things you can do with it, I’ve had it for like 2 months and still find new features. The song selector is one of my favourites, where you can scroll up and down trough your mp3 folders and select what song you want… The color display is as espected, many different entertaiment displays and the option to donwload videos and photos from your pc… At daylight with direct sun light you cant really aprreciate what this unit has to offer, but at night it really glows! Tee only down side ive found so far is the knob when you want to adjust volume, you have to use 2 fingers and go really slow to lower the volume fast, and it dosent have a mute boton… In general, exceeeeeelent, I really liked it ! I’e used pioneer for a couple of years and they definetly know what they are doing!

This pioneer deck is simply amazing. I recently had it installed in my 2K Mustang Convertible with 6×8 Infinity Kappa components up front paired with Infinity Kappa Coaxials in the back. The sound quality is exponentially better than the stock set-up. Rock & Alternative songs sound amazing & the base beats heavy on Hip-Hop tracks. I’ve read some people’s complaints about the ipod interface (i.e. scrolling speed, song/genre/playlist selection, etc.) but I find it very intuitive. The amount of control this deck offers is mind-boggling! Others on this site have also complained about the difficulty of use. I say to them, “read the manual” (like I did) & you won’t have any problems. I’ve found it to be very easy to use & 3 weeks after purchase, I’m still luvin’ my new toy. I initially had my heart set on what I thought was a comparable Alpine CDA-9857 deck but after doing some research & a sound test, I found that the Alpine couldn’t even begin to hold a candle to this Pioneer. Rarely have I ever been this satisfied with a piece of car stereo equipment. I’m enamored with the tuning capabilities, the visual display options, & foremost the sound quality. I have a feeling this will be the perfect centerpiece for the 2 Kicker Solo Baric L7 10s that’ll find their way squeezed into my trunk later on this Summer. Can’t wait, but until then, I’m thoroughly satisfied with this deck. If you’re like me, you will not be disappointed with this deck. I only gave 4 stars because I’m having trouble downloading new visualizers from the Pioneer website. Other than that minor complaint, this baby is GOLDEN!

The sound is amazing. That’s basically what i aim for in a car stereo. That and the mp3 playback is top notch. BBE is something that i can’t live without now. All the other stuff is like a bonus (the screen displays, etc). If you want premium sound, can’t go wrong here, with a 16 band EQ u can settle your car’s acoustic deficiencies. No other stereo in this price range has such a wide-band EQ. Highly reccomended.
