Chrysler | suv | video | Jeep Grand Cherokee | car commercials | Cars | Car News
After a year of having its share of ups and downs – more on the latter, actually – Chrysler is in the middle of reinventing itself with the hopes of returning to its former place as a competitor in the auto industry. As part of their efforts, the US brand is aggressively marketing both its Jeep and Dodge brands with a series of carefully-planned commercials to ensure consumers that the rough patches have passed, and that the company has come back better and stronger than ever before.
As part of this campaign, Chrysler has released a number of commercials featuring the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the latest one being appropriately called, “Stronger”.
In the ad, Chrysler details the painstaking lengths that go in building Jeep’s new flagship SUV while carefully pointing out the importance of the vehicle in the company’s attempt to restore the brand’s image and reputation. As the ad ever-so poignantly says, Chrysler isn’t “building just a car, it’s building a company.”

Opel | video | crossover | Opel Meriva | car commercials | Cars | Car News
The advent of 3D technology has spurned a new wave of marketing and advertising efforts that are centered on making products a tad more realistic to the eye. And what better way to do that to have the public sport on a pair of 3D glasses to watch a three-dimensional commercial.
Without these glasses, however, Opel’s new Meriva crossover commercial is nothing more than your average advertisement, except for the fact that it’s got red and blue hues all over it. Not exactly the kind of commercial you’d want to see when you’re sporting a massive headache. However, if you can cop a pair of 3D glasses – you can even make one if you’re that desperate – then you’re going to enjoy this commercial, which seems to put as much face time on the Meriva as it does on all the 3D-ness it comes with. Either way, 3D’s a brand new advertising approach that hasn’t been done a whole lot before. Knowing how technology works these days, this Opel Meriva 3D commercial just may be the first of new armada of 3D commercials that will hit your TVs and computers.

Dodge | video | minivans vans | car commercials | Dodge Grand Caravan | Cars | Car News
Remember that scene from Anchorman where Ron Burgundy and his news team got involved in a “News Team Royal Rumble” with its local news competition that included, among others Tim Robbins, Luke Wilson, and a Mexican Ben Stiller?
This is what this Dodge Grand Caravan commercial looks like, only that they’ve got people wearing cat, mice, and dog masks. Huh? Where did that come from? Well, Dodge is promoting their new Grand Caravan as a vehicle that “has everything, you can do anything”. Apparently, that “anything” also involves showing up for a warehouse brawl while wearing Garfield on your face.
Come to think of it, they do deserve props for this out-of-the-box ’cats versus mice versus dogs’ idea. It’s different and unique, but we don’t see how this fits into Dodge’s attempt at targeting a younger audience, unless they’re also going for the young-and-weird market.

Chevrolet GM (General Motors) | car commercials | Cars | Car News
After filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy last June, GM has decided to launch a marketing campaign centered on “Excellence for Everyone”. The new campaign will feature more of the Corvettes and Camaros we all love. The Detroit automaker doesn’t do a good enough job leveraging those iconic names to help the Chevrolet brand, according to Mark Reuss, president of GM North America.
“When have you ever seen ’Vettes and Camaros in ads for Equinox and Malibu?” he wrote in a web chat with the Detroit Press. “This will change.”
Change is something that GM should be getting accustomed to. This effort to boost sales comes after a new CEO, multiple restructurings, and the closing down of some of their dealerships (and then the reopening of some).
We should see the news ads appear sometime in the next couple of months and although the marketing campaign is centered on “Excellence for Everyone”, Reuss assures that this will not be Chevy’s new tagline.

Hyundai | industry news | car commercials | Hyundai Sonata | Cars | Car News
We didn’t notice it at first but a certain high-end couture brand certainly did and they’re dropping the hammer on Hyundai for having the audacity to associate their luxury line to the Korean automaker and its 2011 Sonata.
Apprently, Louis Vuitton wasn’t all that thrilled when Hyundai used their trademark design and symbols on an obviously high-end basketball in one of their Super Bowl commercials. The whole scene happens a little too fast in the commercial so it could’ve escaped even the most astute eyes watching television during the Big Game,
But it turns out, Louis Vuitton has the eyes of the hawk, immediately recognizing their image and liking on the basketball and immediately filed a law suit against Hyundai for copyright infringement. We’re not familiar with the whole lexicon of infringement laws but Louis Vuittions demand of “triple damages, punitive damages, a halt to the alleged infringement, and other remedies” doesn’t sound a whole lot like “Ok, we caught you. Now drop that footage from your ad”.
We’ve still to hear from Hyundai regarding Louis Vuitton’s lawsuit so we don’t know how they plan to address the situation. Nevertheless, we can show you the commercial and the clip-in-question in its entirety so you can see what got LVM all riled up.

Hyundai massive advertising campaign for the new 2011 Sonata is the biggest so far, with a budget of $160 Million US dollar we see Sonata’s everywhere on TV. Lately they made like bandits during the last 2010 Superbowl, with nothing less than 8 different commercials. They have have one more up their sleeves but they were nto sure if they wanted to air it during the Superbowl, the content is not offensive but it is a bit juvenile. Check it out and see for yourself if they made the right decision to not air it, or if they should do it as soon as possible…

Dodge | USA | dodge Charger | muscle cars | car commercials | Cars | Car News
While the perception in society points to men becoming “tied-down” after they get hitched, we should all be reminded that perception isn’t always reality. It seems a little short-sighted and naive to think that men have become a little too predictable once we become domesticated.
That being said, as far as the new Dodge Super Bowl commercial is concerned, they seem to think that all men, no matter the course of action they take, will, at some point in time, end up on sort of leash in their lives.
But as the ad puts it in the end, men will abide by the rules for as long as they have something – even just one thing – to go crazy about.
And for Dodge, that ‘one thing to go crazy about’ is the new Charger.
On some levels, we cringe at thought of seeing men – husbands, specifically – get stereotyped in the way Dodge did it. But on the other hand, we can all agree that, while some men do indeed fall on that label, the thought of speeding off on a new Dodge Charger is something a lot of us do go crazy about.

By now, you’ve probably gotten your fill of that hilarious Hyundai commercial featuring a 50-year old Brett Favre accepting the MVP trophy for Superbowl 54 in 2020.
But if you’re one of those who watched the ad during the live telecast of Superbowl 44, chances you are, you saw the watered-down version of Favre’s post-game press conference. Well, thank God for the Internet.
In this video, we have the full five-minute Favre interview where he talks about, among other things, blueberries, robot referees, fishin’ rodeos, playing an NFL game on the moon, and his continued indecisiveness on whether to keep playing past 2020 or to retire – for good. The hilarious ‘interview’ is followed by the same Hyundai plug that came with the TV version wherein Hyundai promotes the brand’s 10-year car warranty.
Check out the video and be treated to five minutes of Brett Favre at his witty and comedic best.

Hyundai | USA | industry news | video | car commercials | Hyundai Sonata | Cars | Car News
If there’s one thing we know now about Hyundai heading into Sunday’s Super Bowl, it’s that the car brand is determined to leave a lasting impression to all those watching the sports spectacle just for the commercials.
We’ve already previewed their Brett Favre commercial a few days ago but now we have all of Hyundai’s advertisements, all of which are expected to air at some point during the game.
And by all, we mean all eight of them.
In an attempt at taking full advantage of the enormous viewership generated by the Super Bowl, Hyundai is spending a pretty lump sum of money for the right to air these commercials. Each 30-second spot during the game is expected to cost somewhere in the neighbourhood of $2 million so if all of Hyundai’s eight commercials air at least once during the event, then the South Korean car brand should expect to pay around $16 million for that privilege.
And the best part is, Hyundai doesn’t seem to mind forking over that kind of money. “The Super Bowl is not only a showcase for great football, but also for the most significant advertising, reaching an estimated 95 million viewers in the U.S.,” said Joel Ewanick, vice president of marketing, Hyundai Motor America.
“Following in the footsteps of our 2008 and 2009 Super Bowl focus on the new Genesis and Genesis Coupe, we are focusing this year’s Super Bowl campaign on the all-new 2011 Sonata, the most significant new model introduction in our history.”
Check out all of Hyundai’s commercials after the jump.
