BMW G-Power | sedan | sports cars | car tuning | BMW M5 | Cars | Car Reviews | G-Power
Last week we reported that G-Power had broken the world speed record for the world’s fastest sedan. However, only part of that news was correct. Turns out, the record wasn’t broken by the old Hurricane RS, but by a new version of the Hurricane called the RR.
The new Hurricane RR is powered by a 10-cylinder engine that received larger superchargers than the V10 used in the RS. The engine also received MAHLE high-performance forged pistons with lower compression and increased mechanical strength. These adjustments allow the RR to produce 800 hp available between 7,500 and 8,000 rpm and 800 Nm at 5,000 rpm. With this amount of power, the RR can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.35 seconds, from 0 to 124 mph in 9.5 seconds, and to 186 in 25.8 seconds. Top speed is 372.1 km/h (231 mph).
A body kit was also added to the Hurricane RR and includes front and rear skirts and spoilers. The car sits on 20″ Silverstone Clubsport wheels. The interior also gets modified with the use of clear-coated carbon-fiber panels for the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Topping off the interior is an ergonomically shaped G-POWER sports steering wheel with especially perforated Kjerba Nappa leather.
Press release after the jump.

Infiniti | suv | future cars | Pebble Beach Concours | Cars | Car News
In just a few days Infiniti will unveil two new special editions at the Pebble Beach Concours. However, this is not the only surprise coming from the Japanese luxury maker. According to Car And Driver, the company has filed for trademarks for cars named JX20, JX25, JX25h, and JX30.
While we have no idea what this new model will be, we are sure that the number indicates engine displacements: 25 might indicate a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine or a 2.5-liter VQ-based V-6, while “h” clearly indicates a hybrid model. The big question comes for the 20 and 30 as Nissan has no 2.0 liter or 3.0 liter engine in its line-up and it’s been years since the company developed a 3.0 liter V6 engine.
Going even further with the speculation, we presume we are talking about a crossover/ SUV model (taking under consideration that all of Infiniti’s SUVs have an X in their nomenclature). So, are we talking about an Infiniti version for the recently launched Nissan Juke? We don’t know for sure, but we do know one thing; this will definitely be another competitor for the German models.

Bugatti | coupe | Supercars / Exotic cars | Bugatti Veyron | cool fast cars | Cars | Car Reviews | Bugatti
Well, it seems that Bugatti decided to bring the new Veyron 16.4 Super Sport long before its official debut at the Pebble Beach Concours weekend in mid-August. And not only they unveiled official details on it, but the supercar already entered the Guinness Book of Records with an average top speed of 431 km/h (267 mph). The new model will go into production this fall, and the first five units will be sold as a limited “World Record Edition.” They will feature a special black exposed carbon and orange finish, and yes, they are already sold out!
The new Veyron 16.4 Super Sport comes with four enlarged turbochargers and bigger intercoolers that have been used to boost the power of the 16-cylinder engine to a total of 1200 HP, the chassis has been extensively redesigned to maintain safety at extreme speed – thanks to slightly raised main-spring travel, stronger stabilisers, and new shock absorbers with a complex architecture originally developed for racing cars. This gives noticeably more precise control of the wheels and the car as a whole. With lateral acceleration of up to 1.4 G and improved interaction between the tyres and the intelligent all-wheel drive system, the Super Sport offers perfect handling and even more powerful acceleration of 1,500 NM on corner exits.
On the exterior the car gets expanded and reshaped front air intakes, a revised back with double diffuser and a centrally arranged exhaust system.
Press release after the jump.

Lotus | coupe | sports cars | lotus elise | special editions | Cars | Car Reviews | Lotus
Lotus Elise has just received a facelift for 2011, but before it goes on sale, Netherlands will be the first to get a special edition Elise SC. This is completely unfair in our books. The limited edition Elise comes painted in matte white with details contrasting in black (superhot). The seats receive an embroidered logo and the standard wheels have been replaced by black 12-spoke alloy wheels. Also, the rear diffuser is painted in black.
Under the hood the 4-cylinder engine remains unchanged, meaning 136 HP and a fuel consumption of 5.04 liters/100 km. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is made in 6.5 seconds.
You know, we can’t seem to understand why everyone else is getting these special edition Lotuses. If you remember, a couple of months ago, Australia received the Lotus Elise Club Racer and last year, the UK received the Lotus Elsie Black and White Edition. Hey Lotus, we want this car too!

Kia | suv | video | KIA Sportage | Cars | Car News
As evidenced by its not-so-subtle appearances in this new promo video, Kia wants us to think of one word when talking about the new Sportage: ‘wow’
For the most part, it’s hard not to agree with that; releasing one of the most entertaining promo videos helps a lot too. Combining colorful graphics with some pretty slick shots of the Tucson’s exterior and interior – we love the orange stitching on those seats – this promo video hits the mark in, well, ‘promoting’ the Sportage. Not to the full extent of ‘wow’, but close enough.
The Sportage actually shares its platform with its local Hyundai counterpart, the Tucson, so if you can attest to the overall package of the Tucson, chances are you’re going to feel the same way for the Sportage.
As it stands, the Sportage is set for a fall arrival in the US and similar to the Tucson, will also come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a later option for a smaller 2.0-liter variant.

Not into the great unknown, but into the arena of car-based, unibody construction. The current Explorer’s truck-like, body-on-frame construction puts it at a disadvantage to crossover vehicles in the areas of ride, handling and fuel economy (unibody vehicles are generally lighter), and if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. The Explorer America concept also exhibits Ford’s forthcoming ecoboost turbocharging initiative, with a powertrain lineup that includes a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine good for 275 horsepower or a 3.5-liter V6 pumping out 340 horsepower. Buick | sedan | Buick Regal | Cars | Car Reviews | Buick
In Europe it is known as the Opel Insignia, but for the North American market General Motors decided to revive a name first used back in 1973: Regal. Sales of the new Buick Regal sport sedan will begin in the second quarter of 2010, and its main competitors will be the Japanese Acura TSX and Swedish Volvo S60.
The 2011 Regal will be offered only in the CXL trim (additional ones will be added for the 2012 model year). The Regal CXL will be offered standard with a 2.4 Liter Ecotec direct injected four cylinder engine that delivers a maximum output of 182 HP, however a 2.0 Liter direct gasoline injected turbocharged Ecotec cranking out 220 HP will be offered as an option. Both engines will come mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with driver-shift control.
There is nothing much to say about the new Regal’s design, anyone can recognize the Insignia underneath the Buick badge. With its aggressive styling and tailored applications of Buick’s signature design cues, such as the waterfall grill, select use of chrome trim and superior fit and finish of the exterior panels. While the interior consists of all the latest technologies to keep it up to date in the 21st century: navigation, Harmon Kardon sound system, internal flash drive (1GB), hard drive with 10GB for music and USB port.
Updated 01/21/10: Buick announced today prices for the 2010 Regal. Prices start at $26,995 for the premium CXL model and at $29,495 for the CXL turbo model (including a $750 destination charge).
