Just last month, Dodge president Ralph Gilles talked a little about the future of Dodge’s vehicles, stating that the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was just the beginning of Dodge’s plans. Today, a reader was able to catch another glimpse into their future with a photo taken of the backend of the 2011 Dodge Charger. He was able to catch the muscle car taking a break from its testing in Florida and, although it is still bandaged up, could see some revised taillights and some hid headlights. The reader was able to take a peek on the inside and that revealed a unique two-tone leather interior that he said “looked upscale for a Dodge.”
In last month’s discussion, Gilles mentioned that the company was looking into a “higher-power version of the Pentastar V-6 with unique power rating” for the 2011 Dodge Charger. The sounds coming from the exhaust of the test vehicle assured us that a higher power version was found and utilized. Another interesting feature our reader noticed was the square cutouts in the bumper housing the dual exhaust which is similar to the feature found on the Chevrolet Camaro.

Although Chrysler hasn’t officially released the new 2011 Dodge Challenger pricing, we can bet that the NADA Guide site is an accurate estimate. You can build your very own Challenger with various options and they even include pricing. It appears to be fairly legit too.
What makes this so interesting is if these numbers are true, then prices have gone up substantially. A base 2010 Challenger SE with the 3.6-liter V6 is around $23,695, while the 2011 model is $2,310 more, at $26,055. The Coupe R/T jumps by $1,910 to $33,520. The top of the line SRT-8, which is the one you should have, is $1,921 more, at $45,601. A steep price to pay for that sweet motor.
When it comes to paint colors, Dodge has a whole buffet of them. You can mix and match all you want, depending on the model you choose. There is Redline 3 Pearl, Green With Envy, Billet Metallic, and so on.
We look forward to getting a go in one of the last muscle cars on the planet with a much improved dashboard and a 6.4-liter HEMI.

It’s time to say goodbye to the current generation Dodge Viper. The last unit rolled out of the production plant in Detroit and rolled into the garage of D’Ann Rauh, who by the way has an impressive collection of 40 Dodge Vipers – the largest personal collection of Vipers in the world.
She opted for a custom bronzed gold exterior paint and a custom interior that features various leather appointments, which were crafted by Tony Spampinito from Venzano. The exterior is also decorated with custom-painted copper stripes applied by Prefix and five-spoke forged-aluminum wheels custom painted in dark graphite.
We have to remind you that the next generation Dodge Viper is expected to be unveiled in 2012. Rumors are saying that the next generation Viper will use a V10 version of the next-generation corporate V-8. This 90-degree engine would be modular from top to bottom as well as cylinder to cylinder. The centerpiece of the engine will be a flat-plane crankshaft from the Ferrari style V8; whereas a conventional cross-plane crankshaft is used for other FIAT variations, like the Maserati V8.
Press release after the jump.

Remember that scene from Anchorman where Ron Burgundy and his news team got involved in a “News Team Royal Rumble” with its local news competition that included, among others Tim Robbins, Luke Wilson, and a Mexican Ben Stiller?
This is what this Dodge Grand Caravan commercial looks like, only that they’ve got people wearing cat, mice, and dog masks. Huh? Where did that come from? Well, Dodge is promoting their new Grand Caravan as a vehicle that “has everything, you can do anything”. Apparently, that “anything” also involves showing up for a warehouse brawl while wearing Garfield on your face.
Come to think of it, they do deserve props for this out-of-the-box ’cats versus mice versus dogs’ idea. It’s different and unique, but we don’t see how this fits into Dodge’s attempt at targeting a younger audience, unless they’re also going for the young-and-weird market.

By now, you’ve probably heard the expression ’Fail!’ being uttered by the kids of today. If you haven’t heard of it yet, we feel sorry for you. But if you have, you’d know that it constitutes seeing something so egregiously wrong that it can be best summarized in one word. Fail!
This video, courtesy of EBaumsWorld, is the epitome of a burnout ’Fail!’, featuring a Dodge Neon SRT 4 and, what we assume is his clueless owner.
Last time we checked, a successful burnout constitutes spinning the back wheels furiously while the front wheels remain still with the friction from the spinning back wheels and the pavement resulting in the release of smoke from the back end. Simple enough, right?
This dude does it the completely opposite way and as you can expect, the results were disastrous. But hey, in his defense, smoke did come out.
It just came out of the engine and not the back wheels.

Dodge | compact cars | Spy Shots and Rendering | industry news | future cars | Cars | Car News
In a lunch sponsored by Dodge at the Economic Club of Chicago just outside the Chicago Auto Show, the company unveiled a sketch of what could be a new compact car the brand is planning on creating in the future.
Presented by Dodge head honcho and Chrysler Senior VP Ralph Giles, the sketch resembles a three-door compact hatchback whose sleek and swooping design has led to speculation that the car might show up at a future auto show as a new concept.
There are no further details as to what Dodge has in store for the concept so it’s anybody’s guess really as to when – or if – the potential compact car will be released in the future. Other than showing off the sketch of the car, Dodge is keeping their cards close to their vests on this one.
What we do know is that when Fiat took over Chrysler, one of the Italian auto giant’s first points of emphasis was to add a compact segment to a number of Chrysler-owned brands, most notably that of Dodge. Taking from this, we’re guessing that the sketch they showed at the Economic Club of Chicago will be the first of what promises to be many versions of the promised Dodge compact vehicle.

There’s something about quarter-mile times that car tuners seem to have a fixation with. Whether it’s trying to post world record times or just seeing how fast their tuned-up creations can go the quarter-mile run has seemingly become a badge of honor of sorts – post the fastest time and wait for somebody else to beat it.
The folks over at SpeedFactory seemed to have that record in mind when they completely overhauled a 2006 Dodge Charger and put a Gen III Hemi stroker motor boosted by a Vortech supercharger engine underneath the hood, tuning up an already fast 900-hp sedan into a mind-numbing 1,000 horsepower.
The result, as you can imagine, is a car that could very well challenge the world record for fastest quarter mile time, and that’s exactly what the
souped up Charger did, clocking a time of 9.453 seconds at 145.38 mph.
We’re still going to need confirmation on whether the car broke the world record for fastest quarter-mile time, but either way, a 9.453-second time is ridiculously fast.
Check out the video and see how SpeedFactory’s tuned-up Charger fared in its quest for quarter-mile immortality.

Dodge | USA | dodge Charger | muscle cars | car commercials | Cars | Car News
While the perception in society points to men becoming “tied-down” after they get hitched, we should all be reminded that perception isn’t always reality. It seems a little short-sighted and naive to think that men have become a little too predictable once we become domesticated.
That being said, as far as the new Dodge Super Bowl commercial is concerned, they seem to think that all men, no matter the course of action they take, will, at some point in time, end up on sort of leash in their lives.
But as the ad puts it in the end, men will abide by the rules for as long as they have something – even just one thing – to go crazy about.
And for Dodge, that ‘one thing to go crazy about’ is the new Charger.
On some levels, we cringe at thought of seeing men – husbands, specifically – get stereotyped in the way Dodge did it. But on the other hand, we can all agree that, while some men do indeed fall on that label, the thought of speeding off on a new Dodge Charger is something a lot of us do go crazy about.
