We know Lamborghinis are fast. We also know that some people, no matter how awesome their ride is, still can’t get enough of what they have and so they continue to tinker with their cars to give it even more bite that what it already has.

While we’re not completely sure what kind of modification the owner of this Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 did to his car, but we do know that Lamborghini don’t shoot flames out f their exhaust pipes, which this Gallardo did a number of times as it was roaring along the highway.

The flames aren’t all that big and you’re going to have to pay extra attention to even see them but trust us, you’ll notice them eventually. And while that is far from a normal occurrence from just about every other car you’ll ever find, the Gallardo’s ear-splitting power is about as real as it can get so if for nothing else, you’ll definitely enjoy listening to that supercar stretch its legs.

Despite the rumors of the Italian super car maker Lamborghini making a SuperVeloce Gallardo, the raging bull is going to bring a factory tuned version of their more compact dream machine to market, but it won’t be wearing an SV logo. Instead the new car will focus on reducing weight as a means of going faster and will be appropriately named the LP570-4 Superleggera when the car makes its official debut in march at the Geneva Motor Show. We won’t come across any official images until a little closer to the reaveal, but thanks to the creative mind of JonSibal we can show you this rendering of what the upcoming Superleggera should look like.

The new Lamborghini LP570-4 Superleggera will weigh in at around 140 pounds less then the standard version while packing an extra 10 HP as well. The new figures will leave the LP with a much more favorable power to weight ratio and is expected to be capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 MPH in only 3.5 seconds. Thanks to Mr. Sibal and TeamSpeed we can also preview a few more of the colorful shades like Orange, Lime green and Yellow while we await a glimpse at the real thing. However we do know that because it is a Lamborghini, owners will be able to color match their leather interior to the car’s wild paint choices.

The next time you find yourself driving a car in South Korea, you might want to think twice about breaking any speed limits unless you want these guys on your tail.

Needless to say, the South Korean patrol cars are not your everyday Kia Rios or Hyundai Getzs. By our tally, that’s a Ferrari 360, a Porsche 911, and a Lamborghini Gallardo all serving as patrol cars for South Korea’s police department.

If you’re picturing a car chase, you’re probably thinking that the scenario would be the other way around. Supercar gets jacked and standard patrol cars give chase. Well, in Korea, the shoe is in the proverbial other foot and trying to engage these cars in a good old police chase is as dumb an idea as drinking milk on Fat Tuesday.

If there’s one thing that being a car enthusiast has taught us, it’s that we should expect just about anything, even if that ‘something’ is as unlikely as Brittney Spears deciding to become a nun.

That being said, we rarely put a Ford Mustang and a Lamborghini Gallardo in the same sentence. It’s not that one doesn’t deserved to be mentioned in the same breath as the other, it’s just that they belong on two entirely different car segments, rendering any sort of comparison as moot.

While comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges, a man by the name of John Haugh from Cleveland, Ohio, decided that instead of racking his brains to figure out which is better, he just took both cars and made it into one.

At first glance, Haugh’s creation seems to have minimal to no trace of the Gallardo but according to Haugh, the Gallardo’s contribution to his creation lies underneath the hood in the form of the 5.0-liter V10 engine that produces up to 520 hp. In addition to that, Haugh’s “Tractorri” – that’s what he calls his brainchild – also comes with the Gallardo’s E-gear sequential automatic transmission and its all-wheel drive system. As far as the Mustang is concerned, well, isn’t it any more obvious.

In the event that you fancy yourself driving this car, Haugh has listed it up on Jameslist at a price that is available upon request.

Any time you get to watch a mini-documentary about one of your favorite automakers in the world, it’s probably worth dropping whatever it is you’re doing to spend a few minutes of your time watching the mini-documentary. In this case, we bring you a four-part episode of Team Lamborghini Muenchen’s exploits during the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo at the “Norisring” racetrack in Germany.

Driving a Lamborghini Gallardo GTR Racecar, the team, which is comprised of veteran race car drivers Jens Klingmann, Maximilian Göetz and Achim Winter, managed to exceed everyone’s expectations by posting better-than-expected results with Klingmann winning all three races despite having never driven the car before. Goetz and Winter also racked up their own impressive results with the two bagging third place in Race 3.

You can find parts 2, 3, and 4 after jump.

No doubt the Audi R8 is a true sports car. And during its life time it won lots of prestigious awards. But for Audi even what me might call a “best car” can become better. And so we have the R8 V10 5.2 FSI, an even more faster R8. The V10 version will be offered in two configurations: manual and R tronic, with prices starting at $146,000.

The R8 V10 is powered by the same 5.2 liter V10 as the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. The engine is rated at 525 hp, which is 105 more than the V8 version but about 27 less than the Gallardo.

What also distinguishes the V10 version is a new rear diffuser, twin oval tailpipes, and new LED headlights. The car still keeps the road-hugging magnetic ride dampers.

The sports car can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 3.9 seconds. When equipped with R tronic semi-automatic gearbox, it reaches 200 km/h (124.27 mph) in another 8.1 seconds. Top speed should be about 316 km/h (196.35 mph).

Press release after the jump.

Lamborghini Gallardo gets pinned under an SUV - January 12, 2010 by admin

In the list of absurd exotic car crashes, this one involving a Lamborghini Gallardo at Lauren Canyon ranks right up there in the pantheon for inanely bizarre. We don’t have the full details surrounding the crash but based from our more-than respectable sleuthing skills, the over-eager Gallardo looks to have driven straight into an SUV, lifting it up in the process thanks in large part to its wedge-shaped exterior.

We’re only a couple of weeks into 2010 but we’ve already seen some pretty ridiculous car crashes caused by driver recklessness, but this one sure does take the cake. How you can get your Lamborghini Gallardo trapped under an SUV is beyond us.
