Let’s face it; there aren’t many people in the world that can afford the Reventon supercar. Not to mention the fact that it is limited to only 20 units. So, in the case that you don’t have an extra $1,200,000 in your pocket to spend or you can’t get on the super deluxe, ultra special list to purchase the Reventon, Lamborghini is offering you the possibility to get an officially licensed RC version, scale 1:10. And what Lamborghini RC car would be complete without its own limited number? In true special edition style, the mini model will only get 65 units.

The RC car was built by De Agostini and has more features than some production models: a two-stroke 3cc petrol engine, a two-speed transmission, and permanent four-wheel drive. For “optimum road holding”, designers installed an independent suspension, hydraulic shocks, and disc brakes.

Of course, it won’t develop a total of 650 HP and won’t hit a top speed of 211 mph, but it will make your dream of getting your hands on a Lamborghini Reventon come to life, in a mini way. If only they would let us know how much it costs.

UnderGround Racing has put together two of the most powerful supercars for a little one on one racing action. The participants are a standard Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera and an Underground Racing creation: a twin turbo Ferrari F430 Spider.

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera weighs in at around 154 pounds less than the Gallardo LP 560-4. The 5.2 liter V10 engine delivers an incredible 570 hp. The result is a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, from 0 to 124 mph in only 10.2 seconds later, and a top speed that goes up to 202 mph. That’s more than impressive, right?

But wait! Its opponent, the Ferrari F430 is even more impressive. With the addition of a turbo system with modified engine it delivers an impressive 750 HP on standard fuel and 1000 HP on race fuel. So, who do you think will win the competition?

How much do you usually pay for a car wash? A few bucks right? Well how about paying 8200 euro (around $10,000) to get your ride squeaky clean? If you are from the UK and drive a luxury sports car, then you will have the chance to enjoy the services offered by Gurcharn Sahota, the owner of this overly priced car wash. And, oh yeah, you will have to wait 250 hours for the job to be done.

You don’t have to worry as the company will treat your car with all of the respect it deserves! As part of the cleaning job a computerised microscope – normally used by forensic scientists – is used to examine the body work for the most inconspicuous scratch not even visible to the naked eye.

The guy behind this company has already cleaned cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo, Bugatti Veyron, and an orange McLaren F1 GTR worth $7.5 million. We guess having a pricey car wash really pays!

There used to be 10 Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV China Editions. Key phrase in that sentence would be “used to be”. Yes, unfortunately, we have received word that one of those supercars have seen an untimely death. It was in a pretty serious accident on June 6th in Beijing and the pictures depict just that.

Apparently, the driver was going 180 km/h when he lost control, left the road, and struck a group of trees before coming to rest 100 meters down the road. Thankfully, there were no pedestrians on the road and both passengers were okay even though they were not wearing their seat belts.

Dodge Stratus gets turned into a faux Lamborghini Gallardo - June 12, 2010 by admin

Our planet is big enough that somewhere in one corner of the world, there’s somebody who goes a little too far in modding his pedestrian ride into something more along the likes of an exotic.

More often than not, the whole experiment fails miserably and the owner is left with something best suited to be destroyed at a moment’s notice. That or he can just cut his losses and sell his ride on Ebay, hoping that somebody would be dumb enough to take it off of his hands.

That being said, if you fancy a Dodge Stratus that has been given a Lamborghini Gallardo bodykit, this one’s exactly for you. And the best – or worst, depending on your taste – part is, it’s being sold on eBay.

UPDATE: Bidding for the car has unfortunately ended. Maybe somebody did buy it.

Despite the safety precautions in place in most competitive races, there’s always that possibility that something could go wrong. That wasn’t any more evident than in Round 4 of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Cup that was held recently.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Cup saw a massive accident during Round 4 of the season. From what we can tell, the number 22 Gallardo LP560-4 driven by Giorgio Bartocci got off into the gravel on the last turn before the front straight.

The driver’s side door flew open as the car span down the tarmac. When it finally came to a stop, the Gallardo turned into a fireball.

Fire crews initially took longer than expected to pull the driver from the wreck and were seen using hand held fire extinguishers to battle the blaze. The FIA is expected to investigate the incident. Surprisingly, Bartocci survived the ordeal and is currently in intensive care with 1st degree burns and a fractured leg .

Armenian builds look-a-like Maserati with his own hands - May 10, 2010 by admin

If anybody knows the value of hard work and dedication, this elderly Armenian, who goes by the name Matevossian, knows it down to a tee. That’s because for over twenty years, Matevossian worked on a project that he actually just finished a few years ago: a do-it-yourself Maserati replica sports car.

Unlike the DIY Lamborghini we featured a few days ago, this DIY Maserati took Matevossian over 22 years to complete, often changing his design specs as time passed by. This DIY Maserati also has a muffle up on the Lamborghini because it actually comes with parts – the engine, the gearbox, and the rear suspension – from a real 1984 Maserati sports car.

In addition to the genuine Maserati parts used in the car, Matevossian also used a 5-speed manual transmission, Weber carburetor, control unit for the turbines, and an altered WHA front suspension and steering wheel that was taken from a Toyota.

While the car looks nowhere near what a real Maserati looks like these days – or 20 years ago for that matter – Matevossian’s piece of work is nonetheless quite impressive, especially when you consider the time and resources he spent to make his car.
