The second model unveiled by the Korean automaker Hyundai at the Los Angeles Auto Show is the 2010 Tucson, a model that will compete with entry level SUVs like the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV-4 and Subaru Forester with sales beginning this December. The 2010 Tucson will be powered by the same Theta II GDI 2.4 Liter DOHC inline four cylinder engine that will be found under the hood of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata delivering a maximum output of 176 HP, 26% more than its predecessor, and 168 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be mated to either a six speed automatic with SHIFTRONIC manual control or a standard six speed manual transmission.
Following in line with Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy, the new Tuscon demonstrates athleticism and sophistication through its flowing lines, full bodied surfaces and muscular profile. Along with the overall appearance, the new Tuscon features details like Hyundai’s new hexagonal front grill and swept back headlights complimented by a sleek greenhouse and wraparound taillights while chrome accents in the grill and door handles gives an added level of sophistication to the top of the line Tucson Limited. The Tuscon will range from $18,995 for a well equipped GLS six speed manually shifted model and go all the way up to $24,345 for a top of the line Limited model.

The 2010MY Fusion made its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show today. The 2010 model year adds two new versions to the line-up: Hydrid and Sport. The new Fusion features new design (inside and out), improved and new technologies and new powertrains with improved fuel consumption.
The 2010 Fusion features a more aggressive front fascia with new headlamps, grille and fog lamps; the three-bar grille in particular is larger with a more modern look. The fog lamps are housed below in a trapezoidal-shaped lower opening to help complete the more-muscular look. At the rear there are new modernized taillights and decklid to help give the vehicle a more unified look from front to rear.
The hybrid version is powered by a combination of a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 155 hp and 136 lb.-ft. of torque and a nickel-metal hydride battery. The hybrid vehicles can operate up to 47 mph in pure electric mode, approximately twice as fast as some competitors. Plus, the city driving range on a single tank of gas is expected to be more than 700 miles.
The Sport version get a 263-hp V-6 Duratec engine, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift. It is offered as a FWD model, but AWD is also available.
The model line-u include (besides Sport and Hybrid): S, SE, SEL. The S version gets a 2.5-liter I-4 engine that delivers 175 hp; the SE and SEL get a new 3.0-liter V-6 engine that delivers 240 hp.

Aside from the 2011 Infiniti M luxury sedan, the upscale arm of the Nissan Motor Company also revealed the 2010 G37 sedan today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. For the 2010 model year, Infiniti will offer the G37 in four trims. Starting out with the base model, moving on to the G37 Journey, then the all wheel drive G37x and finally the G37 Sport with a six speed manual transmission. All models will be offered with a revised exterior styling, an enhanced interior and upgraded technologies.
The 2010 G37 sedan is powered by a 3.7 Liter VVEL V6 engine that delivers 328 HP and 269 lb-ft of torque and is mated to either a seven speed automatic transmission with auto blip Downshift Rev Matching, Drive Sport Mode and Adaptive Shift Control for enhanced driving pleasure while a six speed manual is also offered as an option on the G37 Sport model.
The new Infiniti G37 comes with restyled features like new headlights and a reshaped grill, High Intensity Discharge Xenon headlights standard, more angular wide mouth front bumper and integrated fog lights. For the 2010 model year, the G37 receives two new exterior colors, Smoky Quartz and Graphite Shadow and Maple Accent Wood Trim on the interior. The new G will also be available with several packages and options like the Premium Package, Navigation Package, Technology Package, separate Sport Packages for the G37 Journey and G37x AWD, as well as a Performance Tire & Wheel Package.

The Porsche Boxster line-up will see the addition of a new member in December at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The new Boxster Spyder will only weight 2,811 lb becoming the lightest model throughout the entire range of Porsche cars. Sales will begin in February 2010, with U.S. pricing starting at $61,200.
The Porsche Boxster Spyder is inspired by the legendary 550 Spyder – the first sports car from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen developed specifically for racing but also homologated for the road. The sports car features a light soft, has a lower center of gravity and is equipped with an all-new sports suspension offering the best driving dynamics.
Under the hood Porsche placed a 3.4-liter six-cylinder with Direct Fuel Injection upfront of the rear axle. It delivers a total of 320 bhp – with 10 bhp more than the current top version of the Boster line-up, the Boxster S.
Like all the other latest Porsche models, the Boxster Spyder comes equipped with PDK and the Sports Chrono Package reducing its fuel consumption to 30.4 mpg. The car sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4,8 seconds and can hit a top speed of 166 mph.

Revealed in 2009, the Nissan 370Z is already entering its second year of line. The changes for this year are minimal. Following the total redesign of the iconic Z® for the 2009 model year, the enhancements include revised Navigation Package contents, the addition of heated mirrors and in-cabin microfilter and one new exterior color, Black Cherry. The car is on sale at a price of $29,990.
Compared to the 350Z’s four trim lineup (regular, Enthusiast, Touring and Grand Touring), the new generation Z will only be offered in two versions: 370Z and the 370Z Touring. For both models, Nissan offers two option packages: the Sport Package and the Navigation Package.
The 370Z is powered by a 3.7-liter VQ37VHR engine with VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) rated at 332 hp at 7,000 rpm and 270 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed 7-speed automatic with Downshift Rev Matching (DRM) and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC). Estimated fuel economy from the six-cylinder is 18 mpg City/26mpg Highway for both the 7-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmissions.
The exterior of the car has been sharpened with “boomerang” HID headlights and taillights, revised front-end, and wider wheel arches. The interior uses upgraded materials. It still keeps the retro look from the original Z-cars, including the tri-gauge dash.

If you made a poll on what concept car that was revealed in 2009 would stick to the minds of pistonheads all over the world, one that would sit on top of the list is BMW’s revolutionary Vision EfficientDynamics concept.
Ever since it was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September, the Vision EfficientDynamics has been the talk of the automotive world, and rightfully so. We’ve gone over all the specifications, photos and videos of the car and it seems like all of it still isn’t enough to satiate our appetites for this concept car.
So before the year ends, we have a new video of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics courtesy from the folks over at Edmunds Car Pool. This video was taken during the recently-concluded LA Auto Show where it takes us on an up-close tour of the car while it was prominently displayed during the event.

Infiniti today announced prices for the 2010 G37 sedan revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show and its coupe. The Convertible version will be revealed in February 2010.
Both models, sedan and coupe will be offered in four trims: standard, Journey, AWD and Sport. Prices for the sedan version will start at $33,250 and for the coupe at $36,050.
Both models are powered by a 3.7-liter VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) V6 engien that delivers a total of 328 hp. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission standard, and a 6-speed manual transmission is offered for the G37 Sedan Sport 6MT version.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show Ford unveiled the 2011 Mustang V6, a muscle car powered by a 3.7 Liter six cylinder engine. But for all of you out there who think a muscle car needs a V8 engine, Ford is coming with a good news: the 2011 model will also be offered with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that will delivers a total of 412 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.
The new engine produces 83 hp/liter and will return 25 mph. It will feature four valves per cylinder and twin independent variable valve timing and will be mated to a either a 6R80 automatic transmission or a MT82 six-speed manual.
By comparison, a Camaro SS delivers a total of 426 hp, and a Dodge Challenger SRT8 a total of 425 hp.
We will see the car in January 2010 at the Detroit Auto Show.
