With the 2022 BMW iX3, the Munich-based company is refreshing its battery-electric mid-range SUV, which has only been in production since summer 2020. These are the prices, the range, and the interior!
The BMW iX3 facelift will roll off the assembly line in autumn 2021. The electric SUV has been produced in China since summer 2020 and exported to all markets from there. The pre-facelift model came to Germany at the end of January 2021.
With the facelift, however, the iX3 should move closer to its electronic brother’s iX and i4. To do this, BMW has enlarged the kidney of the iX3, narrowed the headlights by 10 millimeters, and redesigned the front fenders. The rear design is also new and is dominated by three-dimensionally modeled LED rear lights.
The blue trim, a closed grille, and a blue diffuser at the rear remain in a modified form. The M Sport package comes as standard in the iX3. There are also optional 20-inch M aerodynamic wheels. Even before the facelift, an optimized underbody and special 19-inch aerodynamic wheels reduced the drag coefficient to 0.29.
Engine
This benefits efficiency and enables a range of up to 460 kilometers according to WLTP with the battery located in the underbody and with a gross capacity of 80 kWh (74 kWh net). The electric motor has an efficiency of up to 93 percent and sends 210 kW (286 hp) and a maximum torque of 400 Newton meters to the rear wheels.
BMW i4 and iX5 (iNext) will also receive the drive unit developed in-house. Since Bayer: installed a 150 kW charger inside, the 2022 BMW iX3 can be charged from zero to 80 percent in just 34 minutes – this corresponds to a range of around 100 kilometers every ten minutes.
2022 BMW iX3 Interior
When it comes to suitability for everyday use, the iX3 demands no compromises: Up to five passengers: inside and 510 liters of luggage can be accommodated in the interior. The trunk can be expanded to up to 1560 liters by folding down the rear seats. BMW offers two equipment lines for the facelift to choose from “Inspiring” as the basic version includes, among other things, LED headlights, an adaptive chassis, automatic tailgate operation, a panoramic glass roof, electrically adjustable seats, a sports leather steering wheel, a storage package, and automatic air conditioning 3-zone control as well as auxiliary heating and air conditioning.
The Driving Assistant Professional, the parking and reversing assistant with reversing camera, the cloud-based navigation system, and the extended smartphone connection including online functions are also standard. The optionally available equipment line “Impressive” extends the equipment of the BMW iX3 with numerous comfort functions such as acoustic glazing, sports seats with leather covers, and a hi-fi system from Harman Kardon.

2022 BMW iX3 Price
The refreshed version has been available to order since August 2021 for 67,300 euros (as of August 2021). The iX3 is based on the X3 and is the first Bayer model to be available with combustion engines, as a hybrid, and as a battery-electric vehicle.
