2022 BMW X5 Facelift With Premium SUV

As the days go by, new details and pictures of the 2022 BMW X5 continue to emerge. The new BMW X5 will come with a facelift. There will be a few differences that set the 2022 X5, which will keep the current BMW line, from its competitors.

One of the beneficiaries of the 2022 BMW X5 will also be the power variant from Garching. The design of the BMW X5 M F95 LCI is now indicated in a rendering by LatestCarNews, with the draftsman assuming a similar design language as the recent model updates of other model series. Based on current spyshot, we can assume a completely new design of the interior and thus also of the daytime running lights of the headlights, and angular shapes in the area of the air inlets on the front would not be a surprise.

2022 BMW X5 Interior

The 2022 BMW X5 will bring bigger changes to the interior, however: the prototypes already have the large curved display, which so far has only been used in the iX electric SUV and the i4 electric sedan. The large display element will fundamentally change the effect of the interior at first glance and make the high-tech claim even more visible than before. The contents of the current iDrive 8 infotainment system are shown on the display.

Engine Range

Since several updates have already taken place under the hood of the BMW X5 G05 in the last few months and years, we do not expect any major changes as part of the 2022 facelift. The six-cylinder diesel xDrive30d and xDrive40d have already been converted to the 48-volt electrical system and should also be delivered with unchanged 286 and 340 hp even after the facelift. There is only a small question mark behind the BMW X5 xDrive25d with 231 hp four-cylinder diesel because it is still on the road without a 48-volt electrical system.

The only pure gasoline engine below the M models remains the X5 xDrive40i. As far as we know, no significant changes are planned for the plug-in hybrid BMW X5 xDrive45e, which has taken on the role of the best-selling X5 variant in markets such as Germany. The same applies to the V8 models BMW X5 M50i and X5 M Competition, which with 530 and 625 hp can still meet all performance requirements.

Shortly, however, the role of the top model will be contested for the X5 M models from several sides: With the BMW iX M60, the Munich-based company is bringing an electric SUV with over 600 hp into position, and the BMW XM with over 700 is already lurking on the horizon PS.

2022 BMW X5 Price

In terms of driving dynamics, the 2022 BMW X5 will probably be a bit more polished – with a little more power and torque, for example. The spearhead should continue to be the competition model with at least 625 hp. The price of the 2022 BMW X5 will very likely be based on the current model, which starts at 99,500 euros or 143,500 euros for the Competition (as of August 2021).
