Our protagonist today, the Ford Mustang Mach-e GT, flirts with the 500 CV – it offers 487 CV-, with 3.7 seconds in the 0-100 km / h, and with an extra 20 km of maximum speed than in the Mach- And “normal” -this version reaches 200 km / h -. With these extra tricks, he manages to give a twist to his behavior by radicalizing it when we decided to opt for the Untamed Plus environment – an extreme program over the Untamed sports car, which also coexists with the Whisper for quiet driving, and the Active for a medium-term – and which should take us to an environment of a circuit or of sections of roads as clear as they are demanding to find its true habitat – a bit like it happens with the version match 1 of the real Ford Mustang, the gasoline V8-.
In this GT version of the Mustang Mach-E with all-wheel drive, the autonomy remains in 500 km homologated extracted from the large battery that Ford offers with 99 kWh – up to 610 km can be obtained from this model with this battery and rear-wheel drive. Also noteworthy is the low ground clearance of the body, which positions it almost as a raised saloon rather than an SUV, all wrapped up by a low center of gravity to improve performance, and in this case, it is clothed with tires of 20 inches and brakes sized for the 130 hp more than this GT delivers compared to the next more powerful variant.
HOW IT GOES
We bet during our tour of Croatian open roads with the new Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, by simply flirting with the Whisper driving mode to see that it is the smoothest, the most fuel-friendly, the one that holds the least. Above, the Active mode increases the retention of the car to generate more energy, the retention capacity of the car that still grows more in the Untamed mode, but that contracts in the Untamed Plus since this driving mode option was born to be wild without more. The three regenerative braking variables are complemented by the option of using the e-pedal function so that the car works only at the accelerator stroke and that is keyed when we lift our foot from the right pedal. And finally, the last alternative is to press the L key on the gear “knob” on the center console.
Our consumptions have moved between 20 and 25 kWh – in the first case playing with different driving modes and in the second only with Untamed Plus-. Of course, in any of the driving modes, the car accelerates like a demon, although in the case of the Untamed and Untamed Plus we perceive a harder and more direct steering, a firmer suspension – the Magneride adaptive suspension is noted as a plus of quality and efficiency-, and above all an ability to launch yourself up to prohibited speeds or to make any overtaking in time and minimum distance.

For the rest, light makeup on the Mustang Mach-E GT especially at the front level that makes it sportive without falling into stridency compared to the lower horsepower Mustang Mach-E. Inside, good space thanks to that battle that borders on three meters with an easy entry and exit for all occupants, good finishes also with sports differentiation – the seats pick up better than in the normal Mach-E although the upper protrusion can hinder any maneuver of manipulation in the central console-, and boot perhaps a little fair in size for the dimensions of a model that exceeds 4.7 meters in length – it is true that the slightly more than 400 liters of the conventional boot adds another 80 liters in front.
In terms of price, the more than 72,000 euros that the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT has in price make it a testimonial model but that marks with pure image and pure performance how far Ford’s offer can go in the electrical environment and where The Mach-E family should soon receive a two-seater variant, as well as another seven-seater option, a 100% electric variant being also understudy for a model of the size of Puma, but in this case under the Ford logo and not Mustang.
