2022 VW T-Roc: With a plug-in hybrid drive

VW is making the 2022 T-Roc fresh – probably with some optical adjustments on the outside, new infotainment, and a new plug-in hybrid drive. The first information!

After four years on the market, it’s time to freshen up the 2022 VW T-Roc. How the facelift could look is shown in the AUTO BILD illustration based on pictures. Our rendering shows the SUV in the sporty R-Line. VW will probably turn the classic facelift screws. The headlights should get a new interior and optionally also be available in a matrix LED version; for a surcharge, they could be connected by a strip of lights at the top of the grill. The grill itself should be a tad flatter and in the future only have one decorative strut (currently there are two). In our R-Line illustration, the apron from the T-Roc R was inspired.

Noticeable: VW could significantly change the light elements in the apron – which also houses the turn signals. The current model has a narrow frame around the side air inlets. In the future, a vertical light bar could simply be found here, which also replaces the fog lights that were previously integrated on the lower edge of the apron. The slightly more filigree rearview mirror could get the facelift from the VW Golf. At the rear, the T-Roc should have a new light signature and a revised apron, with the indicated tailpipes located further down.

Engine

In the interior, the SUV could get the digital cockpit as standard with the facelift in the higher equipment; this is currently only available as an option. What is certain is that the current MIB3 infotainment system will move in, with which the car is always online. On the engine side, it is to be expected that the SUV will also be available with a plug-in hybrid drive in the future – probably with the combination of a 1.4-liter gasoline engine and electric motor that is also used in the Golf.

The system output could be the same at 204 PS, but the range of the 10.4 kWh battery in the Golf (80 NEDC kilometers) should not be achieved by the SUV. But even the pure combustion engines will probably be offered again after the facelift. In terms of performance, nothing should change, so there could be gasoline and diesel engines with outputs between 110 and 190 hp again. The engines could, however, become more efficient.

2022 VW T-Roc Price

It can be assumed that the facelift of the 2022 VW T-Roc will be presented in 2021. However, it will probably not be on the market until 2022. The prices are expected to rise slightly. They currently start at 22,200 euros.
