Just a few days ago we already told you what the new Mazda CX-60 2022 would look like, one of the two SUVs that the Japanese firm will add to its product range in the next two years. However, it remained to be seen what the 2023 Mazda CX-80 would look like, the 7-seater SUV that will be Mazda’s largest and most capable option.
At the beginning of October, Mazda surprised and announced two new SUVs for the European market that would arrive before the end of 2023. These two new models even have names: CX-60 for the five-seater SUV and CX-80 for the version with three rows of seats and up to seven seats.
2023 Mazda CX-80 Dimensions & Engine
Through this recreation, we can get an idea of what the new Mazda CX-80 will look like when it lands in dealerships two years from now. It will be the strongest bet of the Hiroshima brand for the large seven-seat SUV segment, a vehicle with just over 4.72 meters in length, according to our colleagues at Motor.es.In this way, it will have a commanding and powerful look at the front with sharp LED headlights in the brand’s characteristic style, integrated through a large chrome frame in a wide front grille. Below, the bumper will sport side vents, daytime running lights, and a section of plastic that lines the bottom of the bumper.
This same plastic protection appears in the wheel arches, very marked and rectangular, as well as in the sills and the bottom of the doors. The body will be quite long, with a rising line of windows and longitudinal bars on the roof. The third side window will be larger to provide light and visibility to the third row of seats.
The new seven-seater SUV will be offered exclusively in the European and Japanese markets from 2023. It will debut with a range of new generation Skyactiv-X petrol and diesel engines.
The mechanical offer will include four-cylinder blocks and two more efficient versions, a plug-in hybrid and another rechargeable hybrid using a rotary engine that acts as a generator. We will know more details of the new Mazda CX-80 as the months go by.
