2023 Mercedes A-Class Revealed With Facelift

Now the time has come, and the facelift of the Mercedes A-Class has been presented. The popular model remains available as a compact sedan and sedan. The Mercedes A-Class gets a facelift. The updated models were presented on October 5th. 

Not much has changed with the facelift, the revision has turned out to be subtle. The bonnet now slopes down towards the front and has two power domes and a fairly steep shark nose. Also revised was the grille with a new mesh pattern, a new headlight graphic, and overall flatter headlights. At the rear, there is a new rear diffuser and new LED rear lights, which are now standard on board.

Specifications and engines

The engines have not changed. However, the petrol engines are now all electrified and have mild hybrid technology. The four-cylinder engines are all mated to a 7- or 8-speed DCT automatic, which is also standard equipment.

Also new is the starter generator, which is intended to improve comfort and causes fewer vibrations and noises when starting than a normal starter.

With the plug-in hybrids, the A-Class has been given an update to the battery. This is now more usable, which leads to an increase in range. The electric motor now delivers 5 kW more, which now corresponds to a total of 80 kW. The battery can now also be charged with up to 11 kW instead of just 7.4 kW previously. Charging with direct current up to 22 kW is now also possible. The battery is then recharged to 80 percent in 25 minutes.

Inside you will find significantly upgraded equipment. The highlight is the standard, free-standing double-screen display with 7-inch and 10.25-inch displays. The typical round nozzles with a turbine look can of course still be found, the steering wheel has been revised and is now available in nappa leather as standard.

Even the basic version of the A-Class now comes with a reversing camera, the USB package, and the steering wheel in nappa leather. Of course, the latest generation of the MBUX sound system has also been integrated, which can be operated intuitively and is capable of learning.

The telematics system has also been revised, which can now also carry out identification with a fingerprint sensor. This feature will be available from the first quarter of 2023.
