2022 Mercedes GLE: Facelift & New Interior

The Mercedes GLE facelift is announced for 2022 – then of course as a classic SUV as well as a coupé. We’ll reveal whether anything will change in the engines – from the popular 350 d to hybrid to AMG. The new MBUX should find its way into the interior.

No question about it, the Mercedes GLE Facelift, which should be available from 2022 at an estimated price of around 76,000 euros, hardly stands out from its predecessor, at least in our computer drawing – no wonder, it still looks ultra-modern. The elegant shape with the smooth surfaces typical of the brand is part of the latest design DNA from the Stuttgart-based company: inside.

But because the spoiled customers, especially in the USA and China, usually get impatient after four years of construction, a designer model like the GLE also has to go under the knife. The changes to the GLE, which will continue to be available as a classic SUV and coupé, are evolutionary. While the sheet metal is only touched minimally, the luxury SUV shows a taut face. The grill and its inner workings, the bumper, and – as is usual with facelifts – the lighting graphics are changed.

Similar to the new S-Class, the so-called “torch theme”, ie the lively LED daytime running lights, has been reduced. State-of-the-art lighting technology is used for this in the Mercedes GLE Facelift (2022). As a result, nothing changes in the dimensions of 4924 millimeters in length, 1947 millimeters in width, and 1797 millimeters in height.

Mercedes GLE 2022 Price & Interior

On the engine side, the Mercedes GLE Facelift 2022 will continue to use the familiar drives. We’re talking about the three-liter in-line six-cylinder engines, which currently produce 367 and 435 hp as gasoline engines (GLE 450 4Matic from 78,385 euros) and as diesel 272 and 330 hp (GLE 350 d 4Matic from 73,816 euros; prices as of July 2021). These and all other drives are equipped with 48-volt technology including an integrated starter generator.

2022 Mercedes GLE

It remains with two plug-in hybrids, the technical data of which show the petrol engine 333 and the diesel 320 hp. It is very likely that the top versions AMG GLE 43 with 435 hp six-cylinder including electric assistance and AMG GLE 63 with up to 612 hp V8 Biturbo. That leaves us with the interior: Here the Mercedes GLE Facelift (2022) should benefit from the MBUX update. The use of the vertical XXL screen à la S-Class, on the other hand, would be technically complex and therefore too expensive.

The model update will be presented at the end of 2022, the market launch at the beginning of 2022. And if the trunk volume of 690 to 2010 liters (not hybrid) is not enough: The GLS with up to seven seats will follow six months later.

Which is better Mercedes GLC or GLE?

We previously shared the features and details of the Mercedes GLC. If we compare 2 different SUVs of the same brand, both are more technological than the other. Mercedes GLE offers more interior and exterior space. It will also be more advanced than the Mercedes GLC in terms of comfort and equipment. The choice is your Mercedes GLE or Mercedes GLC? We are waiting your comments.
