2023 Range Rover Sport Hunted on a Test Drive

For the first time, the third generation of the 2023 Range Rover Sport appears as an hunted on a test drive. Even if there is still some time until the presentation, the first details on price, hybrid drive, and HSE equipment can already be guessed at.

The evolution of the 2023 Range Rover Sport is in full swing, as a large-scale camouflaged prototype proves. And despite the stickers, we can already guess that the luxury SUV is optically sticking to the tried and tested. The radiator grille positioned high up is a recognizable feature, even if, when camouflaged, it is reminiscent of the outgoing generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

To the right and left of it, much narrower lights seem to have nested themselves, which are supposed to give the range a more modern look. From other perspectives, however, only a few innovations can be identified. What is striking, however, is the large rear spoiler, which does justice to the name “Sport”. The double tailpipe of the exhaust system, which indicates a combustion engine, can also be seen at the rear.

That wouldn’t be a surprise either, because Land Rover puts much less pressure on electrification than sister brand Jaguar, for example. However, the range of engines for the 2023 Range Rover Sport will go beyond pure gasoline and diesel.

Fully electric drives are also likely to make their debut in the third generation sooner or later: Jaguar Land Rover has teamed up with BMW to develop more cost-effective electric motor

. It would therefore be quite conceivable to implement the technology of the BMW iX in sport. Ranges of more than 600 kilometers and outputs of a good 500 hp could be represented. Speaking of performance: It would also be conceivable to let the famous supercharged V8 from the SVR model roar one last time in the future range.

How it will be in the interior of the 2023 Range Rover Sport, cannot yet be estimated so precisely. More intensive digitization should be considered set – as well as finer equipment options called SE or HSE.
