The Audi A6 e-Tron concept car was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. The firm with the four rings prepares the landing of a new saloon that will add to its range of electric cars in 2023. Internally it is known as the Audi E6, the zero-emission variant of the fourth saloon from the brand with the four rings, which has been advanced with the recent Audi A6 e-Tron Concept. Unlike the Audi e-Tron GT, this new presentation lends itself more to expanding the offer with a more functional and practical variant, anticipating what will be the first fully electric Avant. Audi does take this option much more seriously than with the Taycan’s twin, just canceled. The Ingolstadt brand has confirmed that the design is practically faithful to that of the production model and that we have used to advance this recreation of the future Audi A6 e-Tron Avant.
The Audi A6 e-Tron Avant, the electric family will arrive after 2025
The headlights are made much thinner, and guard the larger, flatter, and more vertical Singleframe grille, introducing a new decorative style. A panel in the same color as the body with indentations and large air intakes at the ends. This same design will be transferred to the family, at the same time as the later pilots. A large stripe in piano black with integrated, more futuristic functions will serve as a link between the pilots and a replacement element for the current light bar.
The manufacturer has already confirmed that the design is 90% production, which means that more conventional taillights will be fitted and the rear-view cameras will be replaced by more normal rear-view mirrors. With almost 5 meters long, the A6 Avant will play the card of the large interior space, for five passengers and a large volume of cargo in the trunk, without interference from the mechanical organs. The future A6 e-Tron Avant, the second model to feature the PPE platform for Premium electric cars, will hit the market from 2025, between a year and a half and two years after the electric saloon. A station wagon with a range of up to 700 kilometers thanks to a battery with a net charge capacity of 100 kWh, and with different versions and power levels.
