Audi Q6 E-Tron Review, Engine & Price

As a Macan brother based on the PPE platform (Premium Platform Electric), the Audi Q6 e-Tron will be positioned between the Q4 and the e-Tron. First photos, an illustration, and information on price, range, and Quattro.

The SUV Audi Q6 e-Tron, of which we have photos and an illustration, will celebrate its premiere at the end of 2022 and should enter the mid-range market in 2023. The abbreviation “e-Tron” makes it clear that this is a fully electric model. The Q6 has roughly the dimensions of a current Q5 and is therefore positioned above the Q4 e-Tron, which will be launched in 2021 and uses the modular electric drive kit (MEB).

Even above the Q6, the well-known and larger e-Tron remains in the range. The technical brother of the Q6 will be the upcoming Porsche Macan, the next generation of which is based on PPE (Premium Platform Electric). The advantages of PPE are obvious: flexible combinations of E-components, good space utilization, and no technical compromises, since combustion engines are not provided.

The Audi Q6 e-Tron (2022) is therefore the fully electric counterpart to the Q5, which should continue to use classic engines and hybrid technology in the future. Audi does not yet reveal performance data or range, but it does reveal special features such as 800-volt technology including enormous charging capacities of up to 350 kW.

Audi Q6 E-Tron Dimensions

With a length of around 4.70 meters, the Audi Q6 e-Tron is shorter than the e-Tron, which stretches to 4.90 meters, but offers a lot of space in the interior due to the PPE basis. The e-Tron, on the other hand, is still based on the MLB Evo platform, which was originally developed for combustion engines.

Interior

The Q6 e-Tron’s operating and infotainment system, reduced to a medium-sized touchscreen and compact digital instruments plus head-up display, in combination with intelligent voice control, is more responsive to individual needs and adapts the information content to the driver’s habits: remember and the driving situations. This should lead to less distraction from the driving situation.

On the drive side, the Q6 e-Tron has two electric motors that operate separately from one another on each axle, i.e. a variable Quattro drive. A coupé version of the Q6 is also conceivable: the Sportback versions of the Q4 e-Tron and e-Tron are leading the way.

Audi Q6 E-Tron Price

The price of the Audi Q6 e-Tron (2022) is likely to be below thee-Tron, which starts at 69,100 euros with a 71 kWh battery and 230 kW (313 hp) (as of December 2021).
