The Audi RS3 2022 is shown for the first time in official photos, framed by the complete Audi Sport model range. The 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine remains on board but gets more horsepower. We name the technical data and limit the price.
The illustrations and official spy photos stir up anticipation for the Audi RS3 2022. With test laps on the Nürburgring, the new edition is being fine-tuned to be able to drive at the top of the segment in terms of driving dynamics. Audi Sport is focusing on its strengths: Both the charismatic 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine and the Quattro all-wheel-drive remain on board.
There is no alternative to the five-cylinder, since the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, which is otherwise used in the group, with 320 hp in the future in the VW R models, is considered stable, but has already reached its limits in terms of exhaust gas behavior. With up to 450 hp in the performance variant, the strengthened Audi RS3 2022 will face competition in the form of the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S (421 hp). The standard seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is used for shifting.

Not only the illustrations show what the final look of the Audi RS3 2022 should look like. Despite the camouflaging of the front, the sills, and the rear, the photos of the Erlkönig reveal a lot of the final appearance. Design experiments are avoided: the classic A3 look remains, which is enhanced by sporty aprons, large rims, and two oval tailpipes.
The shape of the air inlets is strongly reminiscent of the RS Q3 duo already presented, which also shares a large part of the technology with the Audi RS3 – including the five-cylinder. However, there are no pictures of the interior yet, but a look at the standard interior is sufficient. Here, a central touchscreen replaces operation using the rotary push button.
