The new Active Tourer is not expected until 2021, after all, it was unclear until recently whether the van would be continued at all. Therefore there is no price information yet. However, we expect that the 2-series van will continue to start below the 30,000 euro.
Engines
Much sportiness is not to be expected for the family car, but BMW offers a wide selection of lively engines. The current engines produce between 109 and 231 hp. Future drive variants are likely to move in this area. BMW could further expand the range of alternative drives. The 2 Series Active Tourer Hybrid is currently available as a plug-in with an output of 224 hp.

When it comes to optics, BMW uses the scalpel and gives the 2 Series Active Tourer a cosmetic operation. This includes narrower front headlights and kidney enlargement, as it is also done by BMW on other models. Also, the line changes along the lower edge of the window, which will raise more sharply towards the rear in the future and lift the shoulders of the 2 Series out. The innovations in the rearview remain subtle, in which a modified light graphic of the rear lights flashes out from under the camouflage film.

The minimal changes to the body should have little impact on the space available in the Active Tourer. With a trunk volume of 468 liters, the current 2 Series swallows a lot of luggage and more than the competition in the form of the Mercedes B-Class. Nevertheless, the BMW is not at the level of a full-fledged van in terms of space.
For this, BMW sets standards in terms of infotainment. Here buyers of the new 2 Series Active Tourer can enjoy the latest generation, which is also found in the BMW 1 Series. The decision about voice control, touchscreen, or operation with the help of the well-known, centrally located rotary knob next to the gearshift lever is entirely up to the occupants.
