Days before its official premiere, the new BMW M3 Touring 2023 already has the honor of being the fastest family sports car on the Nürburgring Circuit. Here is your last hour.
In a few days, BMW will officially present the new and long-awaited M3 Touring at the 2023 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the first vehicle with a family body specifically tuned by the special department of M Motorsport.
Before revealing all the official data and information, the team of engineers and testers from M Motorsport has done a huge job of fine-tuning the new model. At the moment, the initial results are more than promising, since its pre-series version has already achieved the fastest lap record at the always difficult Nürburgring Circuit.
The new M3 Touring 2023 “devoured” the twenty kilometers of the Nordschleife in just 7’35″060, which represents a reduction of almost 10 seconds compared to the previous record for a car with a family body, held until recently by the Mercedes- AMG E63S Estate.
The new record achieved by the M3 Touring 2023 is most commendable, taking into account, above all, its maximum power of just over 100 hp less compared to the familiar of the star, since for the new member of the M Motorsport family a maximum performance of about 510 hp is expected.
Said power figure is extracted from a 3.0 in-line six-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, a propellant coupled to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. In the absence of official confirmation, it remains to be seen whether or not this new M3 Touring will also have an optional xDrive all-wheel drive, as is the case with the M3 Sedan.
