Citroën updates the C3 Aircross with a redesigned front end and an even more marked commitment to customization and comfort.

The Citroen C3 Aircross is one of the mainstays of the chevron signature range. Launched in 2017, of this compact SUV, manufactured at the PSA Group plant, now Stellantis, in FigueruelasZaragoza, more than 330,000 units have been registered worldwide. In Spain, last year it was the third most successful model of the brand with 9,179 units sold, only behind the C3 and C4. With a proposal based on a fresh and innovative design, customization and comfort, the French SUV is facing its first renovation.

Citroen has chosen to follow the maxim “if something works, don’t change it” in this update, but it has introduced small aesthetic changes that add even more personality to a vehicle that already stood out for its presence. The new Citroen C3 Aircross 2021 is now more elegant, with a redesigned front end, but maintains its strengths: great habitability, a very comfortable ride, and a high driving position that favors visibility.

The biggest changes, then, are concentrated in the frontCitroen explains that they have taken the Experience prototype as a reference to create a renewed front panel based on a new lighting signature and the brand’s logo, whose chevrons are widened in a chrome line that is integrated into the headlights.

The grille is also renewed and is divided into two sections, one under the Citroen logo and the other on the bumper, which in turn integrates new silver-colored protections with body-color inserts. The front is more, overall, soberer and gives it an extra touch of elegance.

The feeling is that the hood is now higher, also gaining in robustness. The protections, born in the front, run through the entire silhouette through the wheel arches and side skirts to offer a more country-style feel.

Again, customization plays a key role in the C3 Aircross 2021 shopping experience. In this update, the possibilities of combining its different elements are increased to 70 possible options. It has seven exterior colors, including three new ones, Kaiki GrayVoltaic Blue, and Banquise White; four-color packs, two new with effects and textures: Anodised Orange and Anodised Dark Blue; and two roof colors to choose from, white and black.

It also has a wide catalog of 16 and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, which maintains the same design as its predecessor, Citroen It offers four different environments: the standard one, with gray seats and gray dashboard; the Urban Blue with blue fabrics and leather materials blue effect; the Metropolitan Graphite, with a chiné gray fabric and graphite leather-effect materials; and Hype Gray, which combines greenish-gray leather with a black leather-look material for elegance.

Maximum Comfort

Has long Citroen focused on personalization, modern designs, practicality, and comfort as their top? In this last section, solutions such as Advanced Comfort seats or hydraulic progressive shock absorbers play a central role. For the new Citroen C3 Aircross 2021, the French firm offers the Citroen Advanced Comfort program, which includes both solutions. Seats are available in all interior environments except standard.

The measurements of the C3 Aircross remain intact. It measures 4.16 meters long and 1.76 wide. Its battle is 2.6 meters, enough to offer correct habitability. Citroen maximizes this aspect thanks to the independent and sliding rear seats to gain room for the knees and with multiple spaces to load objects both in front and behind. Its trunk delivers between 410 and 520 liters of capacity, depending on the displacement of the rear seats, and can reach 1,289 liters by folding down the rear bench.

Mechanically, the new C3 Aircross 2021 will be offered with diesel and gasoline options. Engines BlueHDi 110 and 120 hp represent diesel and PureTech of 110 and 130 hp gasoline. The most powerful engines will be able to mount an EAT6 six-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of safety technology, the French SUV will integrate 12 driving assistance systems ranging from the Head-Up Display to emergency braking, cruise control, Park Assist, or automatic light change. It will also have a Grip Control selector with descent control to adapt to difficult terrain.
