The Citroen C5 Aircross is getting a facelift. On January 12th, the manufacturer presented the updated compact SUV. We have all the information and pictures for you.
The C5 Aircross has been on the market since 2018, so it’s time for a facelift. The updated version is more modern, adult, and more comfortable. In the case of the drives, however, nothing will change for the time being. Read on for more details!

Exterior design
The facelift of the C5 Aircross comes with a tighter look and – as the word also leads you to believe – this time mainly refers to the face of the C5. So optically, the C5 has been tweaked a lot, for example, the new brand logo – black double angles in a chrome frame – is conspicuously staged. Vertical ventilation openings have been used under the headlights, which even make sense and are no longer just for the visuals.
The narrow slot above the license plate ensures that the ventilation opening looks even larger. You won’t find any colored decorative elements in this updated version – the C5 Aircross has grown up.
The lights are kept in the design of the time, i.e. in 3D optics, and equipped with darkened glass and new light graphics. Nothing has changed on the side, here the face-lifted C5 looks like its predecessor.
However, the manufacturer offers new options for customizing the design of the C5 Aircross. For example, there are 18-inch rims in black or silver, and the roof rails can also be ordered in a matt color.
A single new color – the Eclipse Blue seen in the pictures – complements the C5 color palette.
Technical data and engines
As far as the drives are concerned, Citroen has not made any changes. The familiar engines are still available for the C5 Aircross. The Puretech 130 as a gasoline engine, the Diesel Blue HDi 130, and the top version of the plug-in hybrid, which makes 225 hp.
We can only count on improved or new engines in a new generation of models in the next few years.
Citroen C5 Aircross 2022: Interior
Inside you can see the new features more clearly. The steering wheel and instrument display have not changed, but – hardly to be overlooked – there is now a 10-inch touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard. The middle ventilation nozzles have therefore been positioned further down and no longer frame the display. The lines are clear and horizontal and no longer as playful as in the old version.
The center console looks tidy with small and discreet switches instead of a clunky gear selector lever. A new storage compartment and a second USB port are also part of the facelift.
You will now sit more comfortably in the C5 Aircross because the latest generation of comfort seats that we know from the C4 and C5 X is now also being used in the C5 Aircross. People sitting in front can look forward to seat heating and a massage function, and if you have chosen the appropriate equipment version, then you can sit on Soft Touch Alcantara or perforated leather.
The rear seats are single and they can all be folded down, retracted, and moved individually.
Citroen C5 Aircross 2022: Prices and the start of sales
Citroen has not yet given an exact date for the market launch. Only that the facelift should come to customers in early summer 2022. Prices have not yet been communicated either.
