Dacia Jogger celebrates its premiere at the IAA

The Dacia Jogger, of which there are spy shot, will inherit both the Logan MCV and the Dokker at the IAA Mobility in Munich. We reveal which engines are likely to be used, whether there will be a Stepway variant, and estimate the price.

Spy Shot already showed the Dacia Jogger – presumably as a robust stepway variant – which will celebrate its premiere at the IAA 2021 (September 7th to 12th). It replaces the Dacia Dokkker and the Dacia Logan MCV. But even then it became known that there would be a new edition of the compact station wagon – albeit in a slightly modified form, which the new name underlines.

The still heavily camouflaged prototype already shows the same radiator grille design as the recently relaunched Sandero Stepway. At the rear, the taillights reaching far up and a massive tailgate are noticeable. Like its Sandero brothers, the Jogger stands on a slimmed-down version of the CMF-B platform, which, in a slightly modified form, also serves as the basis for the Renault Clio.

This will likely make the station wagon a little longer and wider and will therefore also offer more space in the trunk. It has already been confirmed that the Dacia Jogger can accommodate up to seven people. The first teaser photo also shows a smart roof rail with an integrated roof rack, as we know it from the Renault Kangoo. The price of the Dacia Jogger is not yet known. For orientation: For the compact van Lodgy, the Romanians: inside charge at least 13,990 euros (as of August 2021).

The engines are likely to be shared by the Dacia Jogger with the Sandero Stepway. A three-cylinder petrol engine with 90 hp and a 100 hp unit that runs on LPG is currently used here. For the gasoline engine, Dacia offers a continuously variable CVT transmission for an additional charge.

Whether stronger units will also expand the driving range for the larger Dacia Jogger will not be communicated until the world premiere on September 3, 2021, at the earliest. Among other things, 130 and 150 hp petrol engines are available on the brand shelf, which is used in the Dacia Duster.
