First prices of the Toyota Prius in Europe

In France, Toyota will begin delivering the first units of the fifth-generation Prius in September, giving preference to those who pre-book. The arrival of the new Toyota Prius to the European market has created many expectations after the good reception it received at its presentation and the good feelings of its first owners in Japan, where it is already for sale. Officially, Spain will not receive it, at least in the first wave, since the units reserved by the Japanese manufacturer are destined for those markets in which it has the best guarantee of success. France is one of them. There, the initial prices have already been announced in the pre-reservation phase.

The fifth generation of the Prius has become one of the most interesting options in Toyota’s electric range for the Old Continent. To its usual hybrid range, which continues to be highly requested by its customers, the plug-in hybrid option of the fifth generation of the Prius is added, the only one that will arrive in Europe.

Coupled with an attractive design, which exceeds that of the four previous generations, the new electrical scheme that the Japanese have developed for the Prius stands out for the efficiency that allows it, in real life, to even exceed the expectations announced by the brand itself. Under the front hood of the new Prius is a two-liter displacement gasoline engine that develops 52 hp combined with a new 122 kW (163 hp) electric motor that, together, offer a total power of 223 hp, much higher than that of the previous generation that was satisfied with 120 CV.

The most interesting thing about this Prius is the battery that powers the system, with a 13.6 kWh capacity responsible for the 69 km of range in an electric mode that it can offer, which represents a 50% increase over the previous generation.

Prices in France

As is customary in the case of Toyota and that of other manufacturers, before starting the official marketing, a preliminary phase of pre-reservations is announced that allows the most interested customers to be at the top of the waiting list for deliveries. In France, where the first deliveries are scheduled for September 2023, this possibility has just opened up.
