First Unit of the Rimac Nevera Comes Off the Assembly Line

Rimac, the Croatian firm specializing in electrical technology for automobiles, has been able to grow like few others, knowing how to take advantage of the circumstances that are taking place to the point, nothing less, than becoming a shareholder of Bugatti and having the participation of brands from renowned as the Hyundai Group or Porsche in its shareholding. When things are done well, the results always come.

But Rimac not only develops electrical technology, but it also develops complete automobiles, although these are usually a way of attracting attention, of demonstrating to all the possible clients of its technical division, that they can make spectacular automobiles. The first of them, the Rimac Concept_one, of which very few units were manufactured, became the fastest electric sports car on the market with its 1,224 hp and 1,600 Nm of torque (a total of four electric motors).

Now, its most recent development, the Rimac Nevera, whose name is not very successful in Spain (the only thing missing was that an electric car, all of them branded as electrical appliances by many fans, would be called a refrigerator…), goes into production. And curiously, it does so at the same time as the Pininfarina Battista, although coincidences do not exist; The Battista hides under his elegant Italian suit, all the technical parts of the Rimac Nevera (motors, electronic control systems, battery…). However, although almost the same inside, they are nothing alike on the outside; Few can match Pininfarina in design.

But leaving aside issues related to aesthetics, the important thing is the start of production of the Rimac Refrigerator, the third model to come out of the Croatian firm’s facilities. The fact is that the Refrigerator is manufactured in new facilities that, according to the company, are temporary, since it is waiting for the construction of the Rimac campus to be completed. These facilities have been set up in an old shopping center in Zagreb, Croatia, which houses everything necessary for the production of the car, from the assembly line itself to the paint shop or the upholstery department.

Rimac Nevera

Rimac has published a video where they offer a “tour” through the aforementioned facilities, showing how the Refrigerators are manufactured and taking the viewer through the entire development process, from the concept and design stage to the first rolling chassis, the test mules or the creation of homologation prototypes.

The Rimac Nevera is one of the fastest electric cars in the world, whose configuration is already quite normal in the electric sports car sector. It has four engines, which are capable of offering 1,914 hp and 2,300 Nm of torque, with which it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, while the maximum speed is no less than 415 km/h. h.

By the way, the first unit of the Rimac Refrigerator to come off the production line, chassis #000, will remain in the Rimac facilities.
