Ford Focus 2022: Facelift, Photos & Price

In a few months, Ford will renew the Focus, its representative car in the compact segment. We anticipate some of its possible changes.

Since autumn 2018, Ford has been marketing in our country the fourth generation of the Ford Focus, its representative model in the C segment of compact cars. Well, this popular vehicle is in the news after the publication of several spy images of a prototype model that lays the foundation for the update that the oval firm is preparing.

The vehicle that has appeared on various websites around the world specializing in the publication of spy images of new vehicles that are being tested corresponds to the Active body variant of the Ford Focus IV.

As you can guess from these images, there are various aesthetic changes in his body. Upfront, everything indicates that the headlights will slightly change their shapes, while the DLR daytime running lights with LED technology will also change their appearance and will more closely resemble the same light signature as the Mondeo. In the front area, a front grille with certain design changes and a new bumper is also expected, while in the rear area the only expected changes will correspond to new headlights.

As for engines, no noteworthy news is expected. It must be remembered that the most recent innovation in this regard in the Focus range has been the incorporation of the new MHEV light hybridization micro-hybrid versions for the 1.0 EcoBoost gasoline engine in power levels of 125 and 155 hp, both variants equipped with the ECO environmental label of the DGT.

In the new update that the American brand is preparing, we should not rule out the possibility that its compact model may incorporate a plug-in hybrid version similar to the one already incorporated in the current Kuga, a vehicle in the medium SUV segment that precisely shares a technical platform with the Ford Focus. In the case of the SUV type model, this plug-in hybrid variant receives the commercial name of 2.5 PHEV, with a maximum power of 224 CV, an average gasoline consumption of 1.4 l / 100 km in the WLTP cycle, and an autonomy of about 56 km (measured value also in the WLTP cycle).
