It will take a while before the Ford Tourneo Connect 2022will celebrate its launch in May 2022 at an as yet unknown price. But Ford already showed in October 2021 what it would like to oppose the high-roof station wagon competition and is using the technology of the VW Caddy.
According to the tried and tested concept, the Tourneo Connect again has two different external dimensions, L1 and L2 (Grand Tourneo). Although the specific data of length, width, and height are still under lock and key, the loading volume of 2.6 cubic meters (L2: 3.1) and the loading lengths of 317, 1100, and 1913 millimeters (L2: 629, 1452, and 2265). In addition, Ford attracts practitioners: inside with fully removable and foldable seats in the second and third rows.
The backrest of the front passenger seat can also be folded down flat. To all inmates: A large number of cup holders and storage areas are available to satisfy the needs of the inside. With the Titanium equipment, a panoramic glass roof in the Ford Tourneo Connect provides a flood of light. If it gets too warm as a result, the two-zone air conditioning starts working.

In addition to Titanium, the Active, Trend, and Sport equipment options are also available for the Ford Tourneo Connect (2021). They differ optically through different rims, front masks, and interior materials. All four have in common the 8.25-inch multimedia display, which can be increased to ten inches if required. If you choose the latter option, you will have access to online navigation including real-time traffic flow, and will see nearby petrol stations and their prices on the display.
On the engine side, Ford offers the Tourneo Connect (2021), each with a gasoline engine and a diesel unit. With the gasoline engine, 114 hp and 220 Newton meters are available, while the compression-ignition engine releases 102 or 122 hp and 280 or 320 Newton meters in two output levels.
All engines come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard and optionally with a seven-speed double-clutch – apart from the entry-level diesel. The more powerful diesel can even be ordered with an all-wheel drive in combination with the manual switch. However, the latter also costs about 0.5 liters of diesel more per 100 kilometers. The front-wheel-drive cars only need 4.8 liters, the petrol engine at least 6.3 liters. How deeply interested people have to dig into their pockets for the newcomer is still unclear.
