This morning the Taiwanese giant Foxconn has presented up to three new models. Two of the electric cars, Model C and Model E, while the Model T will be a micro-bus. A premiere where the design of the proposal has attracted attention, as well as some names inspired by Tesla’s proposals.
As usual, for construction Foxconn will not face this challenge alone and for the occasion has created the company Foxtron, which it shares with the manufacturer Yulon Motor. Something that will allow to shorten development deadlines and accelerate production.
On top of the proposals, the Model C is a compact SUV that will become Foxtron’s first model built on the MIH open platform. A model that will be marketed by Yulon and will hit the market in 2023.
It is a vehicle that is placed in segment D with its 4.46 meters long, and a wheelbase of 2.86 meters, which will have a high-performance version capable of accelerating up to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds, and a range of 700 NEDC kilometers, or about 600 under the WLTP cycle. An aspect that, in the absence of confirmation, indicates the presence of a battery of at least 75 or 80 kWh.
The Model E for its part is a saloon designed in collaboration with the Italian bodybuilder Pininfarina, which is endowed with an attractive design and a whole set of first-rate technological equipment. From opening doors with facial recognition, smart windows, a rear seat that functions as a mobile office, and autonomous driving.
The Model E has a power of up to 750 hp, which propels it to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds, and its autonomy according to the manufacturer will be 750 km with each load, which we can estimate at about 650 km WLTP.
A model that will reach the western market under a brand yet to be confirmed, and that will be manufactured in China for the whole world.
The latest proposal is the Model T, which is unmarked from the car segment and is positioned as an industrial alternative. A mini-bus with a motor with a power of 260 kW, a torque of 3,000 Nm, and a lithium-ferrophosphate battery that allows it to enjoy a real average autonomy according to the manufacturer of 250 km, and homologated of 320 km.
The vehicle is equipped with electronic air suspension, electro-hydraulic power steering, and ABS disc brakes. all to ensure the comfort and safety of the occupants. A proposal that will begin its first works next year with the deliveries of the first units in Taiwan.
A project that involves the introduction of one of the largest consumer electronics production companies in the world in the electric car sector, not only as a manufacturer but also as a platform to become a supplier of components to other brands, where they hope to occupy the 10% of the market between 2025 and 2027.
