The headlight units sit under the daytime running lights and the grill should shrink to a slit. While the side view of the production model is much more conventional, the parallels at the rear are again obvious. The taillights move up and frame the rear window – just like with the HabaNiro.
In 2022 the Kia Niro will be launched with a fresh design but a tried and tested concept. This includes the consistent electrification of the drives, which currently include a full and plug-in hybrid and a battery-electric version. How the price will develop before the new edition is pure speculation. As a hybrid, it is on the price list from 27,490 euros (as of November 2021).
Kia e-Niro 2022
Without electricity, nothing will work with the Kia Niro beyond 2022. The current hybrid Niro relies on an uncharged 1.6-liter petrol engine with 105 hp, which sends its power to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The full hybrid is supported by a 32 kW electric motor. Purely electric driving is only possible for short distances, but external charging of the small 1.56 kWh battery is not possible.
The plug-in hybrid, on the other hand, can do this, with its electric motor being more powerful with 44.5 kW and a larger battery with a capacity of 8.9 kWh. According to the WLTP, its purely electric range is 65 kilometers. The E-Niro goes even further purely electrically: With a 100 kW electric motor and 39.2 kWh battery, a maximum range of 289 kilometers is possible according to the WLTP and a maximum range of 455 kilometers with a 150 kW motor and 64 kWh battery.

The latest spyshot of the Kia Niro 2022 show no changes on the outside but for the first time the interior of the SUV. Because the black covers are up, we can already see the screen arrangement, which consists of two screens of roughly the same size behind the steering wheel and next to it above the center console.
The stately size is a tribute to the advancing digitization, which of course does not stop at the Niro.
