The original Countach was the figurehead of the 1980s and a symbol of lifestyle coolness in a class of its own. But the name “Countach” is also something special because it is one of the few model names from Lamborghini that has nothing to do with bulls, the brand symbol. Rather, it corresponds to an expression of astonishment in the Piedmontese dialect – very appropriate!

Exterior design
As a tribute to the Countach, Lamborghini has presented the Countach LPI 800-4. It combines the design of the old model with a revolutionary look and technology of the 21st century. Nevertheless, the puristic lines can be seen that it is the Countach. Like no other model, it embodies the modern super sports car and Lamborghini design.
The silhouette is unmistakable due to the front-to-back baseline, the sharp angles and lines, and the very idiosyncratic wedge shape. The result is a clean and clear contour and a typical Countach face. To give the LPI 800-4 this face, the Quattrovalvole Edition was the inspiration. In particular from the lines of the bonnet and the long, rectangular, and very low grille.
Iconic and aerodynamic are the NACA air intakes, which are embedded in the side and the doors of the Countach. A look at the stern immediately reveals the characteristic shape of the inverted wedge. The model also has four exhaust pipes that are incorporated into a carbon fiber rear diffuser.
You get into the Countach of course via the famous scissor doors, which were first introduced on the Countach at the time and have since become a trademark of the Lamborghini V12.
The Countach is something special, because it not only embodies the design and engineering teachings of Lamborghini, it also stands for the fact that limits can be reinvented and the extraordinary is possible.
Engines, performance, and technical data
As you would expect from a super sports car like the Countach, you get a superlative engine. A naturally aspirated V12 engine with 6.5 liters of displacement combined with Lamborghini hybrid supercapacitor technology makes the Countach fit for the future while preserving the V12 experience and, above all, the sound.
When it comes to power, purists get their money’s worth. The maximum combined power of the naturally aspirated and electric motor is a whopping 814 hp, with permanent all-wheel drive. This gives the Lamborghini top values: 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.8 seconds, 0-200 km / h in 8.6 seconds, and a top speed of 355 km / h.
All body parts and the monocoque chassis are made of carbon fiber, which saves a lot of weight. The LPI 800-4 weighs only 1,595 kilograms. The visible carbon fiber elements are located in the front splitter, in the air inlets on the bonnet, around the windscreen and the exterior mirrors, and in the interior.

The Countach LPI 800-4 was presented on August 13th, it wore the special color Bianco Siderale on the outside and triumphed on the inside with a completely red and black leather interior. They wanted to take up the design of the original Countach in the interior and reinterpret it. Classic but luxurious leather with geometric seams is processed on specially designed comfort seats. The dashboard also features this leather and features a square motif, suggesting the style and optimism of the design of that decade.
In the Countach, you will also find movable ventilation slots that have been produced using the latest 3D printing technology. A photochromatic roof, which can be moved from solid to transparent at the push of a button, is also a real eye-catcher.
The vehicle’s controls are integrated into the 8.4-inch touchscreen in the middle of the Countach. Apple CarPlay is also available. In addition, there is a special button called “Styles” (design). Pressing it explains how the Countach design philosophy came about.
Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Prices and the start of sales
The Countach was presented on August 13th. A small edition of only 112 copies was determined for the Countach LPI 800-4. The number is derived from the internal project name “LP 112” which was used during the development of the original model. From the first quarter of 2022, the Countach will be delivered to the lucky 112 owners all over the world.
Due to the small number of units, it is a privilege to drive one of these models – but you have to be able to afford it first. What the Countach will cost has not yet been announced. Due to the exclusivity, however, we assume that 1,000,000 euros should be easily reached.
