Mercedes-Benz EQB 2022 Prices and the start of sales
The EQB is an electric compact SUV that, as a 7-seater, makes an excellent family car. It premiered on April 18th. Market launch in Europe should be in 2021, but no more precise date has been given yet. In the USA, the EQB will not be available until 2022. As far as the prices are concerned, we will have to be patient a little longer, Mercedes has not yet announced anything.
Engines and driving behavior
The EQB will probably build on the new EVA II electric platform, which already serves as the basis for the EQA. The battery sits under the vehicle floor between the axles and weighs around 600 kilograms.
While in China the AMG Line is available as the top model of the EQB with just under 300 hp right from the market launch, in Europe you get various models with front-wheel and all-wheel drive in power levels up to 272 hp for the first time. Mercedes has not yet released more detailed information on this.
The batteries have a usable capacity of 66.5 kWh. With this capacity, a range of approx. 478 kilometers should be possible. To further increase the range, a version with a larger battery is already being planned.
In China, the new EQB will be launched as a fully equipped top model with AMG Line and an output of 215 kW. In Europe, customers have the choice right from the start between several models with front-wheel and all-wheel drive and various power levels, some of which have an output of over 200 kW.
If the EQB needs to be plugged in, it can be charged with up to 11 kW on a wall box. The charging time at a fast-charging station of up to 100 kW is only 30 minutes, and then the battery is fully charged to up to 80 percent.
Technical data and exterior design
As a robust family SUV, the EQB is also angular in design but full of character. The EQ-typical black front grille with the Mercedes star in the middle can also be found in the EQB. Also, a visual highlight is the continuous light strip at the front and rear.
With the EQB, an iconic electric SUV was created that connects to the past, box-shaped off-road vehicle and yet was designed for the future. This creates the special look of the EQB that takes a bit of getting used to.
Mercedes-Benz EQB 2022 Interior
The EQB is a 7-seater, which is practical both for large families and when larger transports are pending. An electric car with seven seats does not yet exist, the EQB is in an exceptional position. It is also great that the seats in the third row can not only be used by children, but adults up to a height of 1.80 meters can also easily find space there. If you prefer to sit your children in the back, you can do this without any problems, because child seats can also be installed there.
Thanks to the large wheelbase of 2.83 meters, there is plenty of space inside. If you take a seat in the second row, you can adjust the backrest in several stages as standard and a length adjustment can also be ordered as an option.
Of course, the EQB also has intelligent navigation, which is already included in the standard equipment. If you enter a destination, the fastest route is calculated and the charging power, charging stops, and the remaining range are taken into account. If you have to charge, it is ensured that the battery has the optimal charging temperature beforehand so that the process can be completed as quickly as possible.
The large dashboard provides both driver and passenger with a screen section. The operation takes place via the new MBUX.
