NIO confirms that in 2022 it will launch the ET7 electric saloon in Germany

NIO continues to advance its international expansion. The young Chinese march will begin deliveries of the ES8 SUV in Norway this month; In addition, the company has confirmed its intention to expand into the German market next year, as well as the launch date in Europe of the new ET7, its first electric saloon.

The NIO ET7, which will begin to be sold in China in the first quarter of 2022, will land in Germany in the fourth quarter of that same year. Curiously, the company at the moment does not plan to market the ES8 SUV in the German country, something truly striking if we consider that this model is already sold in another country on the old continent.

On the other hand, the company has also announced that if the demand for its vehicles in Europe is high enough, it is open to producing them locally. The interest is very high, with many requests from potential users there. Our goal is to have the ET7 in Germany by the end of 2022, “ explains William Li, Founder, and CEO of NIO.

The ET7 is a representative saloon (segment F) with a length of 5.10 meters. Therefore, it will rival such models as the sumptuous Mercedes-Benz EQS, as well as the future Audi “Landjet” and BMW i7, the three electric proposals of the German trident in this category. What will the Chinese sedan offer to stand up to these three heavyweights in its home market?

The outstanding aerodynamics achieved by NIO technicians (Cx of 0.23) allows it to homologate a truly record-breaking range. Thus, it will be available with three types of batteries: 70 kWh (range of 500 km NEDC ), 100 kWh (range of 700 km NEDC ), and 150 kWh (range of 1,000 km NEDC ). This last pack will have a module-free design and will bet on solid electrolyte technology.

The powertrain used in this luxurious car is made up of two engines, so we are talking about an all-wheel-drive vehicle. The front propeller will yield 245 HP (180 kW) and the rear 408 HP (300 kW), being the power of the set of 653 HP (480 kW) and the maximum torque of 850 Nm, something that will allow you to do the 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds.

On the other hand, the NIO ET7 will also have the new driving assistant NAD (NIO Autonomous Driving), which will be able to drive completely autonomously on any type of road (highways, urban areas, etc.). Another exciting first will be the use of the world’s first UWB digital key.
