NIO reaches 200,000 manufactured units

NIO is one of the fastest-growing electric car startups. A name that is building a solid image and that today has celebrated the milestone of having managed to carry out the 200,000th unit of its range.

This striking figure also occurs just one year after celebrating the 100,000th unit. A sign that despite the difficulties with the supply chain and the challenges of the Covid in China, the manufacturer is accelerating its growth.

Something that we can see with more perspective if we take into account that from the beginning of its chain production in May 2018, until April 2021, NIO has managed to produce 100,000 units. A figure that has now been achieved in just 12 months.

The company’s 200,000th production vehicle was a blue unit of the ET7 saloon. A model that has rolled off the production line located at the JAC-NIO Advanced Manufacturing Center in Hefei, Anhui province.

Now the challenge, in addition to fighting to restore normality in the supply chain, is to present the updated versions of its ES8, ES6, and EC6, which will have a new version of the hardware called “virtual cabin” that allows important innovations in equipment and technology.

The deliveries of the new models that will use the NT2.0 platform will also take place, and that will mean expanding the family with interesting alternatives such as the ET7ET5, and ES7, which will benefit from this second generation architecture.

The commercial expansion is also going at full speed, which allows it to have a network of 380 stores in China and 240 technical services, in addition to preparing the expansion throughout Europe where sales will begin in the second half of the year in markets such as Germany, Holland, Sweden, and Denmark.
