Little by little there is less left for the premiere of the sixth and new generation of the Opel Astra, the representative car of the German firm in the C segment of compact cars. During the last years, the new model has been the protagonist on the Internet after new spy images were published and after leaking some interesting data that we previously knew.
The sixth and new generation of the Opel Astra has been put to the test for a few months now. Its starting point for technical development is the common transversal platform EMP2 of the Stellantis Group so that the new delivery of the car of the German firm will share technical genes with the recently released DS 4 2021 and with the new generation of the Peugeot 308, a model that will make its official debut soon. In the case of the new Astra, its premiere should take place at the end of this year, so its commercialization should not begin until the beginning of 2022. Design

According to this recreation and the details that the spy images glimpse, new headlights will take center stage at the front with an image and style very similar to the current Mokka. According to the new unofficial information to which Autopista.es has had access, the length of the overhangs will be approximately equal to the current model. In the case of the rear area, this could have a cleaner look and the rear light groups could be inspired by those of the Mokka.
On the inside, the new compact will improve slightly its space and roominess, as well as updating an already more modern atmosphere. With a cabin practically already digitized, the Astra 2022 will also incorporate outstanding innovations in terms of connectivity and new and advanced security systems.

The German Opel factory in Ruesselsheim will be the chosen place for the production of the Astra VI. Regarding its technical characteristics and the possible engines that it can incorporate, at the moment there is no official information available, although we can give you several hypotheses and data in this regard.
