Peugeot 5008 2021: Photos, Price & Engines

The Peugeot 5008 2021 is a large SUV from the French manufacturer, which offers the possibility of having seven seats while maintaining the crossover aesthetic. It is an update of the 5008 2017 and has interesting news.

The design was one of the most striking points of this model and that could not change. That is why a logical evolution has been made, which stands out mainly on the front with a frameless grill that gives it a modern touch. It also serves to connect all the elements, by having new headlights attached with the daytime running light in a vertical position. The model name appears on the hood, as in the 2008 and 3008.

The bumpers are sharper and the air intakes are framed in gloss black. The option to have two-tone bodywork is maintained and the color palette grows with two new tones (Celebes Blue and Metallic Cooper), while the rim designs are renewed. At the rear, the highlight is the new Full LED lights that show the claws in 3D to achieve a more striking effect and that have sequential turn signals.

For the exterior to gain even more personality, you can opt for the GT trim or the GT Pack package, which includes 19-inch wheels and specific anagrams. The Black Pack, which includes the grille, logos, trims, fenders, roof bars, spoiler, thresholds, and rims in a darker shade can also be equipped.

The interior of the Peugeot 5008 also undergoes a remarkable evolution and features the latest generation of Peugeot i-Cockpit. This translates into the new 12.3-inch digital instrumentation and the main 10-inch touchscreen with piano-key-style direct access buttons. New upholstery also appears depending on the selected finish, as well as decorative moldings such as dark lime wood.

The use of space is also an innate quality in the Peugeot 5008 and various combinations are offered. In the second row, there are three individual seats of equal size that are adjustable in length and inclination. The third row has two seats that are folding and fully removable. Also, the passenger seat can be folded down to accommodate objects up to 3.20 meters long. Not to mention that the trunk maintains the 780 liters with five seats and up to 1,940 liters by lowering the rear rows.

The mechanical range of the Peugeot 5008 also presents some novelties. On the gasoline side, the three-cylinder 1.2 PureTech appears that has 130 hp and can go with both the six-speed manual transmission and the EAT8 automatic transmission. The top of the range for the moment will be the 1.6 PureTech four-cylinder, which has 180 hp and can only go with the automatic transmission.

On the diesel side, there are also several options, starting with the 1.5 BlueHDI four-cylinder with 130 hp, both manual and automatic. Above is the 2.0 BlueHDI also four-cylinder, with 180 hp of power and only with the EAT8 change. Later, the arrival of a plug-in hybrid is expected.

Equipment

The equipment is another of the points that have been reinforced in the new Peugeot 5008. Among its equipment, we can find some systems such as the Night Vision, the adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go function (in the automatic ones), the assistant lane position, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, or traffic sign recognition, among many other things.

The range will continue to be structured around three trim levels that can be completed with a “Pack”. The Active already has 17-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, Safety Pack, or parking assistant (with the Pack it adds electric rear-view mirrors and VisioPark). The Allure features 18-inch wheels, PET fabric upholstery, a 10-inch screen with navigation, and a Safety Plus Pack (the Pack adds keyless entry and start, ambient lighting, or a folding passenger seat). The GT is the top of the range with specific wheels, Full LED headlights, mixed upholstery, or Pack Assist Plus (with the Pack add 19-inch wheels, seats with massage function, or Focal sound system)
