The Peugeot e-2008 is, for the moment, the only electric SUV from the French brand and it will soon present its mid-cycle update. The Peugeot 2008 is a successful SUV and the same can be said of its battery version within the electric market, so this renewal is very important. Although there will be changes in the design, what is truly important will be its electric drive.
The new Peugeot e-2008 will be presented to the world on May 4, Thursday, at 11 in the morning. The Lion brand will make a world premiere that will be broadcast online, in which all the details of its new model will be announced.
The restyling of the Peugeot e-2008 will be nourished by all the improvements that we are seeing lately in the new models of the firm, with design features that mark a renewed brand identity. Outside, there will be aesthetic touches in front and behind, with resources that drink from the new 308 and 408.
Among the novelties at an aesthetic level, it is possible to expect new, more aggressive headlights, a completely renewed front grille, and rear lights with a new light signature, with the typical thinner LED claws and a black stripe joining both lights. A resource already used by the new 308, 408, and 508.
However, the most important developments will be in the technical part. The new Peugeot e-2008 will receive a new 156 CV (115 kW) electric motor, more powerful and more efficient than the current one, the same one already used by the e-308 and e-208, as well as other models from the Stellantis group. like the electric Jeep Avenger. We cannot rule out that, as in the e-208, there are still versions with 136 hp.
The new engine comes hand in hand with a higher capacity battery, which goes from the current 50 kWh to 54 kWh (gross). The incorporation of this battery, together with the greater efficiency of the propellant, represented an improvement of almost 18% in the range of the e-208. Assuming a similar percentage gain in the new e-2008, we are talking about a range of around 400 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
The Peugeot e-2008 is currently the third best-selling electric SUV in Spain, only behind the Tesla Model Y (the real best-seller) and the Citroën ë-C4. The current model is marketed with four different equipment levels and a price starting at 37,820 euros before aid from the Moves III Plan. However, to have an e-2008 with the latest technology, we will have to wait until the end of the year for the first deliveries of the new model to begin.
