The Peugeot Rifter is the perfect outdoor van for the whole family and it will soon be available as a fully electric e-Rifter. Seven seats and a lot of space are also available here – and the environment is happy too. We have pictures and current information for you.
The Rifter is a popular all-rounder for families due to its enormous amount of space and its robustness, and as the electric version you can easily drive into traffic-calmed areas of city centers, it protects the environment and does not have to do without the advantages of the classic Rifter. The e-Rifter remains true to itself and at the same time offers a new driving experience.
If you are interested in the classic Rifter, you can get current Peugeot Rifter offers and save an average of 7,300 euros. If you want an electric family car but you don’t want to wait any longer for the e-Rifter, Peugeot has other models with an alternative drive to choose from:
Prices and the start of sales
The Peugeot e-Rifter can be ordered from the second half of 2021 and should come onto the market in autumn this year. Prices have not yet been announced. The classic Rifter starts at 22,540 euros, the electric version will be a lot more expensive. We assume a base price of 32,000 euros.
Engines and driving behavior
The electric motor has an output of 136 hp and a maximum torque of 260 Nm. The 50 kWh battery enables a range of up to 280 kilometers. The electric drive ensures responsiveness right from the start, there are no vibrations or noises.
Regardless of whether it is the standard or long version, the battery capacity of both models is 50 kWh. An on-board charger, the 11 kW onboard charger, is included as standard. The e-Rifter can be charged at a household socket, a reinforced socket, or a wall box – the e-Rifter can also be charged at a quick charging station. If you charge at the household socket, you have to plan time, because a charge here takes 27 hours. If you have an 11 kW wall box, charging takes just under 5 hours, and at a 100 kW quick charging station, the battery is 80 percent full again in 30 minutes.
Peugeot e-Rifter 2021 Technical data and exterior design
The e-Rifter is based on the multi-energy platform EMP2, which offers the option of a purely electric drive.
The e-Rifter is available in two lengths (standard and long) with up to 7 seats. So that the e-Rifter is as variable as possible, you can get both the standard and the long version with five seats. The third row of seats can optionally be ordered for the standard version.
The second row of seats is equipped with three foldable individual seats, each of which can accommodate a child seat. Trailers can also be towed, the trailer load is 750 kg when braked. At first glance, the e-Rifter looks like its combustion version, but the differences are in the details. The e-Rifter is equipped with a monogram “e-Rifter” on the back, there are also 16-inch wheels, depending on the version, and the charging flap for refueling is attached to the left rear fender.
Two braking modes are available for optimum energy use. The moderate mode is similar to braking with a combustion engine. In the enhanced mode, the car brakes automatically as soon as you take your foot off the accelerator. Therefore, there is an increased recuperation of the battery here.

The e-Rifter is a very variable vehicle, because not only do the three individual seats in the second row of seats make the van versatile, but also the possibility of lowering the passenger seat. So long objects can be loaded easily. If you opt for the standard version with five seats, you get a trunk volume of 775 to 1,050 liters. If you opt for the long version, up to 4,000 liters are possible with the seats folded down.
