Polestar is the Volvo group brand dedicated exclusively to the production of 100% electric vehicles with a very sporty style. It already has two models on the market, the Polestar 1 and the Polestar 2, to which a third model will be added next year, the Polestar 3. The great novelty is that it will be an SUV-type vehicle, with a highly aerodynamic body and that, as a great novelty, will be manufactured at the Volvo plant in the United States.
Volvo has made a great commitment to the electric vehicle that after the launch of the XC40 in 2020 will continue this autumn with the arrival of the C40, which will become the first model only manufactured in an electric version of the Swedish brand. In addition, it is going to implement a system only via the internet for the sale of its electric models, which in just five years will represent its full range.
But also Volvo, within its commitment to the total electrification of the car, launched in 2017 a new integrated brand such as the Swedish one in the Geely holding, Polestar. This came to be the luxury brand of the Volvo group, focused on the production of very exclusive and high-performance vehicles, but above all 100% electric. Polestar 3 Made in the USA
The great news is that Volvo’s luxury brand is preparing to launch its third model, the Polestar 3. It will be a vehicle integrated into the large SUV segment and characterized by a highly aerodynamic exterior line. A car with which to maintain that touch of maximum exclusivity that defines the brand since its launch, also in the SUV segment. And of course, it will also be 100% electric, the key to the future of the Volvo group.
This model will be very focused on the North American market where it will be launched during the second half of next year. The big news is that this model will be produced at the Volvo plant in the United States. The CEO of Polestar, Thomas Ingenlath, has highlighted when announcing the production of this model in the United States that “The Polestar 3 will be manufactured in America for American customers .”
Specifically, the plant is located in Charleston, in the state of South Carolina. It has been in operation since June 2018 and exclusively manufactures the S60 version of the Volvo range, a mid-size saloon with gasoline mechanics that are marketed throughout the world.
