The Macan can count itself lucky. As the first four-door sports car model, it was given the special abbreviation T. Until now, this was reserved for the 911 and 718 models. Before only the electric Macan is sold from 2024, the purist clientele will get a special treat.

Exterior design

Don’t let the abbreviation T confuse you, although it stands for Touring, with Porsche that in no way means that it is a cozy, practical, and rather less sporty car. But on the contrary! For many years, the manufacturer has been using the T to designate models that are characterized by particularly puristic sportiness.

Visually, this has been implemented in some design elements. You have the choice between 13 paint finishes from the normal color palette, but a contrasting tone is also provided for various add-on parts. Exterior mirrors, front panel, roof spoiler, and the lettering on the rear are finished in achaat gray metallic.

The strips around the windows and the tailpipes are in bright black. The Macan T has 20-inch wheels as standard and inserts are attached to the flanks that carry the “Macan T” lettering again.

Engines

When it comes to sportiness, then of course we look specifically at the engines. The Porsche Macan T comes exclusively with a 265 hp two-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. 400 Newton meters of maximum torque are also available. Macan fans will have noticed that this is the engine that is also installed in the basic model – unfortunately, you don’t get an increase in performance with the Macan T.

But the acceleration from 0-100 km/h is 6.2 seconds thanks to the standard sports Chrono package and the corresponding driving modes – i.e. 0.2 seconds faster than the basic model. The top speed is the same again and is 232 km/h.

A 7-speed dual-clutch transmission sends power to all four wheels, so the all-wheel drive is also available. What is special again is that the Macan T has been lowered by 15 millimeters, resulting in more direct steering behavior and more agile handling.

If you have a little more money in hand, you can optionally have air suspension installed, which lowers the Macan T by another ten millimeters.

Like the exterior, the interior has special T-model details. These include door sills made of black aluminum, the covers are a combination of black leather and striped fabric. A steering wheel heating as standard, a sports Chrono package with a characteristic stopwatch on the dashboard and the revised infotainment system are also included.

In addition, the Porsche emblem is embossed on the seats and headrests and the multifunction GT sports steering wheel has silver-colored contrasting embroidery.

Porsche Macan T Price

If you opt for the Macan T, you get a puristic look, agile handling but no huge performance. In terms of price, the starting price is 69,462 euros, and the order books are now open. Porsche expects the first deliveries from April 2022.
