Tesla keeps its fans waiting for the new Roadster, but it should be a superlative electric car with a top speed of over 400 km / h and a range of 1,000 kilometers. Visually, one remembers the beginnings in connection with modern designs – because the roadster was the manufacturer’s first electric car many years ago.
Fans of the electrical manufacturer have known for a long time that you have to wait for a new Tesla model because the start of sales of the Model 3 had already been delayed and we have been waiting for the Model Y for a while. It is therefore not surprising that the roadster did not come onto the market on the announced date. But patience pays off because the Roadster is set to become the most powerful Tesla of all time!

Prices and the start of sales
The Tesla Roadster 2.0 should have come onto the market in 2020. Tesla could not keep that, the new date was set for mid-2022. The prototype should be ready and presented by the end of 2021. The Roadster can already be pre-ordered – for a reservation fee of a whopping 40,000 euros. The Roadster is not cheap, because the complete purchase price should be 210,000 euros.
Engines and driving behavior
Between 2006 and 2012, the Tesla Roadster was the manufacturer’s first production vehicle. The new roadster is based on the beginnings of the manufacturer and should therefore be something very special. The sprint should go from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 2 seconds, which would currently be the record for the world’s fastest production vehicle.
The roadster is expected to reach a top speed of 400 km / h and only needs 8.8 seconds for the quarter-mile (402 meters). That can only work because three engines are supposed to drive the roadster. We already know that from the new Plaid versions of the Model X and Model S. The total system performance of the Roadster is said to be an unbelievable 10,000 Newton meters.
But that’s not the only sensation, because Tesla promises a range of an incredible 1,000 kilometers. The battery should have a capacity of 250 kWh, which makes such a mileage possible. We won’t see for more than a year whether the new roadster can keep this promise.

Elon Musk is planning a SpaceX options package for the roadster. According to the Tesla boss, ten rocket engines should be installed around the vehicle, which should significantly improve the roadster’s driving and braking properties. All of this sounds a bit like a car from a James Bond film, which will certainly not be approved for a production vehicle.
The prototype pictures show narrow, front headlights and on the front, you can see that you can’t see any cooling air intakes. This brings out a resemblance to the other Tesla models and the rear is a bit reminiscent of the Audi TT Roadster. The batteries are likely to be placed behind the seats, as a battery under the sports car is less popular because the car is less flat there.
The windshield wipers are also being revolutionized, with a patent-pending for an electromagnetic windshield wiper. The new Tesla wiper should only get by with one arm. The windshield wiper wipes vertically from right to left and hits almost the entire surface, not like the current windshield wipers, which wipe in a semicircle. When the windscreen wiper is not in use, it retracts horizontally under the bonnet.
