The 100% Electric Maserati GranTurismo Folgore Hunted

During the renowned Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, which will be held this weekend, Maserati plans to present the new generation of the GranTurismo. This 2+2 sports car will not only be available with gasoline engines, but for the first time, it will have a 100% electric variant called Folgore.

This version has now been discovered charging at a station in California in the company of a Tesla Model 3. Complement devoid of camouflage, the sighted unit sports a striking “pink gold” color that makes the already spectacular car call even more attention. watch out for traffic. No wonder it has been captured by multiple photographers!

The new GranTurismo sports the same design language as the MC20 and Grecale. Thus, both the vertical headlights and the oval grille (in this case blinded) remind us of the latest releases of the Italian brand, although the rest of the body maintains the stylized proportions (long hood, rear cabin) of its predecessor.

The thermal versions of the Maserati GranTurismo will have a 2.0 turbo mild-hybrid and the 3.0 V6 Biturbo “Nettuno” already seen in the MC20. The electric Folgore will, however, be the most performant model of the offer, since its propulsion train will be made up of three motors (one on the front axle, two on the rear).

The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore will have 1,200 hp

With more than 1,200 horsepower, the GranTurismo Folgore is destined to become the most powerful Maserati in history. It is expected that it can complete the 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds; In addition, thanks to its 800-volt electrical architecture, it will be able to charge at powers of up to 300 kW in direct current.

Later on, Maserati will also launch a convertible version called the GranCabrio. Like its closed brother, it will have a Folgore variant with identical technical specifications; therefore, it will not only be one of the first electric convertibles on the market, but also one of the most performant.

The GranTurismo and GranCabrio will not be the only electric sports cars in the range, as Maserati is also preparing Folgore versions for the MC20 and MC20 Cielo. The rest of the members of its lineup (Grecale, Levante, Quattroporte) will also be electrified, leaving the renewal of the Ghibli up in the air.
