The electric Ford E-Tourneo Courier shows its front shortly before its presentation. In a few days, all its secrets will be revealed. Ford’s line of electric vehicles is only growing. And it does so beyond the two best-known models in its range, the Ford Mustang Mach-E, an electric SUV that has made a very good impression in all markets, and the F-150 Lightning, an electric pick-up that triumphs in the United States and will soon travel to Europe. However, the “zero emissions” range extends much further, with commercial vehicles or multipurpose vans for transporting people, professional work, and leisure. A new alternative will soon join this catalog: the Ford E-Tourneo Courier.
The official presentation of the model and all its details is scheduled for next May 15. The company’s most affordable European van will present, in addition to its new 100% electric mechanics, a renewed image, although with elements already seen in the Ford E-Transit Courier, its cargo and commercial transport variant.
After knowing all the aesthetic and mechanical details of the Ford E-Transit Courier, the model adapted for passengers will not bring big surprises beyond the adequacy of its interior to ensure the comfort and practicality of a family on a day-to-day basis.
However, although Ford continues to keep its main details a secret until the date of its presentation, it has just revealed, through its social networks, the first image of the model. It shows the front of the minivan fully exposed.
A very ‘Explorer’ front
In this area, the new decorative elements of its faired grill stand out, in the form of diamonds and the chrome finish. In the center of the same copy, the aesthetics of the new Explorer, with a large shield that includes a large oval. Black plastic moldings are also inserted at the ends of the bumper. Its headlamps are the same as the commercial variant that already debuted, with a new lighting signature and an LED band that crosses the entire width of the car.
The same thing will happen in the passenger compartment since the continuity trend will also be present in this space. In the E-Transit Courier, the oval firm inserted a 12-inch digital instrument panel, as well as an infotainment touch panel with the same dimensions. On the contrary, in the passenger version, the entire cabin will be adapted to transport up to five occupants and a large-volume trunk.
Given the similarities between this electric passenger van and its commercial transport version, the new Ford E-Tourneo Courier could adopt its same electrical mechanics with 100 kW (134 hp) and 290 Nm of maximum torque. Regarding the rest of the elements, such as its battery, Ford of Europe has been very discreet, hiding specific specifications on its capacity or range. It is known that it will be able to have fast charging by direct current at 100 kW of power. This will allow the electric van to restore up to 87 kilometers of range after only 10 minutes of plugging in; After 35 minutes it will have recharged to 80% of its capacity. At the moment it is not known what its starting price will be in Spain.
