Updated Ford Mustang Mach-e is coming in the fall

One of the pillars of Ford Model e ‘s electrification strategy is the Mustang Mach-e, which recently got an update in the US for the 2023 range. Orders opened in late August, after being closed since April, due to high demand. Once again, Ford has to increase prices due to the rise in raw materials.

In the United States, MSRP starts at $46,895 for the entry model (Select RWD) with standard batteries and tops out at $69,895 for the Mustang Mach-e GT with full-size batteries. In the German market, the basic model will increase in price by 6,400 euros, standing at 62,900 euros. For reference, at the beginning of 2021, the basic model cost 46,900 euros.

The consolation remains that in exchange for the tariff scab several items of optional equipment become standard, see the perimeter cameras, electric folding mirrors, and projection of the pony on the ground, as well as the panoramic sunroof in the GT. Differences between AWD and RWD models with large batteries are also narrowed.

The range will be structured in Europe in three levels, the basic, Premium, and GT, as before. New to the range are the Vapor Blue and Carbonized Gray colors in any version (they replace Dark Matter Gray Metallic and Iced Blue Silver Metallic ), as well as integration with Amazon’s Alexa assistant. In the American market, the Co-Pilot360™ system is standard, and the Blue Cruise can be tested for 90 days in the Select (basic), after which it is paid separately.

At least in the 2023 US range, Premiums with Extended batteries have increased their range by 13 miles or 21 kilometers. In addition, models with large batteries will be able to tow up to 1,500kg, which is half a tonne more than before, as well as carry 75kg on the roof (65kg if it’s a sunroof). Those features haven’t changed for the Mustang Mach-E GT.

Mustang Mach-E

In Europe, the Mustang Mach-E is not among the 10 best-selling models until July, but in the US it is the second best-selling model in its category, only behind the Tesla Model Y. Right now Ford is the second best-selling car brand electric vehicles in its home market, it is far ahead of General Motors and Stellaris. In July sales of the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning and E-Transit increased 168.7%, while the Mustang Mach-e increased its volume by 74.1%.
