Volvo XC60 2022: Swedish premium SUV is updated

The restyling of the Volvo XC60 is here. With this update, the Scandinavian SUV maintains its goal: to seduce customers and take the spotlight away from the famous German trio. Do you want to know more details?

Admittedly, Volvo has hit the mark with its XC60 model. This SUV already triumphed in its first generation, so the Swedish brand opted for the evolution of its exterior design – and not a revolution – in its replacement. Of course, everything else changed, from the interior aesthetics to the platform – the sophisticated SPA – or even the mechanical range. With this recipe, it has managed to position itself as one of the models preferred by customers, and that has to be measured against such forceful rivals like the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Audi Q5, BMW X3, Jaguar F-PACE, Land Rover Discovery Sport, or Mercedes- Benz GLC.

Therefore, as in the Volkswagen Golf, if something works commercially … why touch it? This is what the manufacturer must have thought since the Volvo XC60 has received a restyling that modernizes its image in a “surgical” way. In this way, we see some newly designed bumpers, with wider air intakes, although it maintains the distinctive LED light signature in the shape of Thor’s hammer. For its part, the profile highlights a greater prominence of the chrome elements and renewed alloy wheels, while the rear features darkened lamps and new decorative details in the lower area.

About the passenger compartment, there are hardly any relevant modifications, although they were not necessary due to its high quality of finish. Upholstery and moldings are renewed, the large central touch screen remains, and it allows to have some technologies such as the Google assistant, 360º camera, wireless charger, Head-Up Display or adaptive suspension, as well as over-the-air updates.
