VW Taigo 2022: Without camouflage in new spyshot

The prototypes of the new VW Taigo 2022 are once again seen facing the last tests before entering production. Once again, the new B-segment coupe SUV has been hunted in camouflage-free spy photos sporting an attractive red color. The European Nivus, which will be manufactured in Spain, is ready for presentation.

The prototypes of the new 2022 VW Taigo have moved to the Austrian Alps to complete the development and fine-tuning phases leading up to a presentation that is getting closer and closer. And it is the second time in a few weeks that the new B-segment SUV is seen in spy photos without any camouflage that hides details in the body.

The VW Taigo 2022 is the European variant that we announced to you in a world exclusive just less than three years ago. A model that will be manufactured for Europe in the Spanish VW factory in Landaben, Navarra. A model that bets on a more sporty design. The front end is dominated by profiled headlamps featuring the C-shaped LED daytime running light, fused with the slim, black honeycomb-patterned radiator grille, the same livery as the lower grill.

At the ends, the fog lights have been arranged vertically. The new Taigo features a very gently sloping roofline, along with the tailgate. A very suggestive shape that gives a more coupe-style, making it a sportier alternative to the T-Cross. Like this model, the taillights occupy the entire width, no difference compared to the design presented by the Nivus.

Inside, the new 2022 Volkswagen Taigo will also mount the same dashboard as the T-Cross, with the digital instrument panel and a large screen in the center console for the infotainment system. The German brand will not skimp on equipment for this model, which will add LED headlights and advanced MIB 3 multimedia platforms or a wide panoramic roof that will extend from the windshield to the spoiler placed on the tailgate.

Based on the MQB A0 platform, the Volkswagen Taigo will arrive in European dealerships by the end of the year, as a 2022 model. The range will exclusively feature front-wheel-drive versions and a selection of 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter TSI petrol engines, with maximum powers of 110 and 150 hp, with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
