Unveiled, but camouflaged at the last Goodwood Festival of Speed, the new and unprecedented Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally has finally been shown in its final production version. If the Oval brand surprised everyone with the creation of an electric SUV taking advantage of the Mustang name, now it gives a twist to the model with this version inspired by the brand’s rally cars.
Ford engineers have made important tweaks to the Mustang Mach-E to achieve agility inappropriate for this type of vehicle not only on asphalt but also on dirt roads, as you can see in the video below.
To protect the lower area of the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally, various modifications have been carried out: for example, the height of the body has been raised by 20 millimeters compared to the Mustang Mach-E GT. The underbody has been protected, especially in the front and rear, where the electric motors are located. The door trim and wheel arches have a protective film, while the (optional) anti-mud skirts further protect the exterior of the vehicle.

Other extra features that make the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally a car even more special and prepared for dirt sections are these: exclusive suspensions, with springs designed specifically for this model, MagneRide shock absorbers, 385 mm front brake discs with Brembo calipers red, 19-inch rally-style alloy wheels, 235/55 R19 Michelin CrossClimate2 tires, trailer integrated into the front…
To make matters worse, a new driving mode called RallySport has been released, which adjusts and adapts the electronic control systems to achieve a little more drift, improve throttle response, and give a more aggressive touch to the damping and better handling in conditions. irregular.

On a mechanical level, the propulsion scheme already known in the Mach-E GT version is preserved, with two electric motors that add 358 kW (486 HP) and 880 Nm, as well as the 91 kWh capacity battery. Its acceleration is not known, but its 0 to 100 km/h could easily be around 4 seconds.
Specific design
In addition to the imprint that its raised bodywork or rally-inspired wheels may give it, a double decorative racing stripe has been incorporated, which combines with the available colors: Grabber Blue, Shadow Black, Eruption Green, Grabber Yellow, White Star, or the new Gris Glacier.
There are white details, such as on the wheels and inside, such as the stitching, the steering wheel, or the dashboard. On the outside, the rear spoiler inspired by that of the Ford Focus RS also stands out, as well as upper and lower moldings, front apron, black-painted steel roof, front badge with fog lights…

Specific details of its performance and pricing for a model for which a rally circuit had to be built at the brand’s Michigan proving ground are yet to be known. The company is targeting a base price of $65,000 for the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally. Orders can begin to be placed in early 2024.
