The Skoda Scala is one of the most interesting models in the compact category, much cheaper than a SEAT Leon, a Volkswagen Golf, or a Ford Focus, for example, but it doesn’t lack anything. Of course, the model needed a renovation, especially to catch up with the Citroën C4, so here comes the Skoda Scala 2024 as a restyling and introducing improvements in absolutely everything. The design has been updated, in addition to the fact that its equipment has also been improved, and the occasion has been taken to review the mechanics in search of greater efficiency.
This new Skoda Scala 2024 debuts a more modern design than the previous one. The changes have focused on a new grille, aesthetically more modern, as well as a sportier bumper than the one it had up to now. It has LED headlights as standard, but it is also now possible to equip matrix LED headlights as higher equipment. And as usual in restyling, the Skoda Scala 2024 gets new wheels of up to 18 inches and new body colors, in addition to the fact that the rear diffuser and rear optics have been updated, with a more modern lighting pattern. In short, an aesthetic touch-upkey to keep up to date, while sticking to what is typical in a restyling.
Great improvements in the Skoda Scala 2024
In the cabin of the new Skoda Scala 2024, we find new upholstery for the seats, and new materials also for elements such as the dashboard and door panels. The automatic climate control has been revised and, in addition, it now has a digital instrument panel in all its versions. However, the basic configurations come with an 8.25-inch diagonal screen and the higher equipment has 10.25 inches.
The multimedia system has also been improved and can be 8.25 or 9.2 inches depending on the finish. The technological improvements in the Skoda Scala 2024 are also notable in terms of driving assistance systems. It does not lack things like adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, active lane-keeping assistant, and a long etcetera. In this sense, once again, the Skoda Scala has been updated to compete with more modern rivals, such as the cheap Citroën C4, which is a success in sales.
And although it is the least notable, perhaps the most important change that comes from the hand of this new Skoda Scala 2024 is in the mechanical section. The Czech brand has opted for a renovation in search of greater efficiency that, obviously, translates into lower consumption and also more contained emissions. Thus, now the range will be made up only of the latest generation gasoline engines. The most basic of the range will be the 1.0 TSI 95 CV, but it will also be sold with the 1.0 TSI 115 CV and the 1.5 TSI 150 CV.
The bad news is that the 2024 Skoda Scala will not be available with an ECO label. None of its gasoline engines have mild hybrid technology, nor does it have any type of electrification, so all its mechanical versions have a C label. However, we must also remember that in the compact category, there are no options that, due to their price and their benefits, have an ECO label. To have electrified engines it seems that we are going to have to wait for a new generation of the model, because in this restyling it is a task that the Czech brand has left pending.
