  • Based on the upcoming BMW X1
  • Bigger than the current car
  • The possible fully electric version in planning
  • Expected to be launched in 2023

A heavily camouflaged prototype of the new Mini Countryman was spotted during test drives, and there are rumors that a fully electric version is also being planned. This alternative to the Volvo XC40 and the Mercedes GLA is expected to hit the market sometime in 2023.

Exterior design

The prototype of the 2023 Countryman is perfectly camouflaged and the design is hard for us to predict.

It is expected to grow 20 centimeters in length compared to today’s Countryman. This will provide more space for passengers and luggage.

At the front, the headlights are a bit smaller than before, but the camouflage prevents you from seeing much more.

The new Countryman retains the box-like shape of the current vehicle. The prototype is seen here also appears to have a sporty body kit and quadruple tailpipes, suggesting that it is the “Cooper S” version.

Mini Countryman 2023 Interior

There are no pictures of the interior of the new Countryman yet, but it can be assumed that it will be a further development of the current vehicle (see picture below).

The large, circular infotainment center on the dashboard has been a trademark of the Mini for decades, so this design feature can also be expected in the new Countryman.

It can also be assumed that the new Countryman will use an adapted version of the BMW i-Drive infotainment system.

Engines

The engine of the 2023 Countryman will be the same as the new BMW X1. There will be 2 different engines, diesel and gasoline.

There are rumors that Mini plans to drop the plug-in hybrid version of the Countryman and instead introduce an all-electric version. More information about this car should follow in due course.

Mini Countryman 2023 Prices and the start of sales

The new Mini Countryman is still in the early stages of development, so prices will not be announced for some time. However, it is to be expected that the price will increase compared to the current car, possibly in the direction of 35,000 euros.

The official premiere will probably take place at the end of 2022 because the Countryman is expected to go on sale in 2023.
