2022 Acura RDX Catches up with a fresher face

The time has come for an update for the Acura RDX. Your 2022 model receives remarkable plastic surgery, accompanied by a meticulous revision in acoustic isolation, subtle adjustments in some components of the chassis, and a handful of novelties in the field of technology.

The redesign has touched only the elements necessary to keep it fresh from the brand’s most recent releases. That’s why the front gets a fascia with a style similar to that of the MDX and the bumper features square tailpipes. The sporty-looking A-Spec version remains in the portfolio.

The most important new features of the Acura RDX 2022 are on board. The Japanese firm improved the Active Sound Control system and introduced new acoustic insulation components to improve the soundproofing of the cabin. The engine warm-up process has now been reduced from 1,100 to 950 rpm, which in turn reduces vibrations in the cabin during the first few minutes of driving.

Other very specific novelties that the RDX 2022 presents are a digital speedometer for the 7 “screen of the instrument panel, wireless compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the infotainment system, USB-C charging ports, and the introduction of Amazon Alexa Like TLX it receives a program with 27 color environments to choose from.

In dynamic terms, Acura talks about a revised suspension and adjustments in the various drive programs (Normal, Sport, Comfort, and Snow). The feel of the brake pedal is improved thanks to the Electronic Brake Booster system. The engine remains the 272-hp, 280-lb-ft 2.0-liter turbo block, paired with an SH-AWD all-wheel-drive system and a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Production of the Acura RDX takes place at the brand’s facilities in Ohio, United States. Sales in its home market will begin during November, so its launch in USA should take place during the first quarter of 2022.
